Over all, I really like this unit with couple of minor issues. 1. Everything appears to be stainless steel. 2. There are six tray approx 8" X 11". The key is it has a wire mesh with very small holes (probably less than an 1/8 of an inch). 3. The controls are simple to use but includes one of the quirks. More in a moment. 4. The door has a hasp closure (the door won't open unless you want it too). 5. It is a compact unit (smaller than I expected) but will store easily. Quirks: 1: Read the manual carefully. It was written by an non-English speaker and requires getting used to his terminology. Also, only includes general guides on dehydrating general categories of food. Look up specifics on other websites. 2. The control panel and on/off switch are in the back of the unit. Not a big deal but...3. Don't panic but the temp range is in 5 degree increments and is in CELSIUS. There are many conversions sites on the web but here are the most common. 90 F= 32.2 C; 100F = 37.8C; 110 = 43.3C; 120 = 48.9C; 130F = 54.4C; 140F = 60C; 150F= 65.6C; and 160F = 71.1C. Get used to these and it appears to be a great little unit. I'll update after I dry a few things. Remember, you aren't cooking the items; you're drying/dehydrating them. It takes time; don't rush things. Review: Great product and Great Service - Excellent product with fast and responsive customer service. I purchased this as a gift for a really persnickety foodie in my life and we honestly thought it arrived damaged. So I contacted the seller and they replied very quickly and cleared everything right up, turns out the unit is actually Protected by a very thick plastic that needs to be peeled off... so the All Metal unit was in perfect condition and is actually quite nice looking after unwrapped properly. I'm sure the customer service agent had a good head shake at us, but they were very nice about the entire situation and seemed very happy there hadn't been a real problem. The dehydrator works great. She has been very happy with it. It holds a surprising amount of food, she's used it to dry spices and fruit quite successfully and it holds quite a lot. She hasn't had any issues with it at all. Considering how demanding she is about her appliances I'm rather impressed with it myself.

I works
I bought this one because it's stainless steel. It's not that small; it surprised me to see how much food I can put inside. I have tried it twice. The first time, I cut mushrooms and they turned out ok (I put too much seasoning. The seasoning flavor gets stronger as the food looses it's moisture). I tried with potatoes, but they did not turn out good. I guess I need to keep trying. I also noted that the house gets filled with the smell of the food you put in the dehydrator; after a few hours, it was kind of annoying (specially the mushroom smell). The food on all the trays was consistently dehydrated (there were no variations in food texture on any of the trays).

My first dehydrator
This machine has worked quite well so far. I have dehydrated onions, peppers, mushrooms, and chicken. Also I just completed my first batch of jerky. The machine has a great range in temperature...way better than most. But the increments or degrees are in 5 degree C increments which makes it a bit harder with some recipes. It is relatively easy to clean and makes almost no noise. The only issue I have is that I went on Facebook to the company web site and asked some questions, and they never responded. I found the info I needed from other folks who dehydrate, the the customer service leaves a lot to be desired. Other than that....so far, so good!

NOT a kitchen appliance!
I was expecting a nice looking kitchen appliance. This looks like a tin tool box. Exposed rivets on all sides, has a handle on top that looks like a gate pull, and the latch for the door is something you find on tool boxes. Thin sheet metal box with no insulation so the outside of the box is the same temp as the inside. Speaking of temps, the controls are in degrees C so you have to convert if you want degrees F. Shelves are 1/2" apart so it's only good for thin slices if you want to use all the shelves. Instructions are amusing at best with phrases like "Look after children and those lack of sensation and using experience" and "when the machine is on, there will be wind come out from the front door, and you can hear the machines working voice". Seems like over the years, Amazon has become a market for over priced very cheaply made products from China. For those familiar with Harbor Freight Tools, I see Amazon going in that direction.

Solid dehydrator for the price
Pretty solid dehydrator for the price. Like the stainless for looks and easy cleaning. The trays are steel too, so that's a big plus. Haven't had a dehydrator to play with in years...been dying for some jerky that cost less than some precious metals and fruit leather. The temps only go in 5 degree Celsius increments, but that may not be a big deal for some. I cleaned it up when I unboxed it an ran it at about 80c for a couple hours to burn any junk off left during manufacturing... surprisingly, no odors. It nailed the jerky, fruit leather, and a handful of basil with out issue...so I'm happy.

Very well built money saving dehydrator
This is my first Food Dehydrator I have bought. I am absolute in love with it as it was not very expensive, is well made and solid stainless steel, quit to operator and allows me to save money and preserve the fruits and vegs I otherwise would have wasted. I now make snacks for work and school and its perhaps the best item I have bought to save me money, space and increase the shelf life of the foods I buy. I highly recommend. You can find the link here to purchase.

Good product, but with some problems
I'm happy that it's clean, compact and easy to use. The biggest problem is the difference in the degree of dryness in the front and back. Big matter is even if the innermost item is dry and slightly burnt, the item near the door is still quite damp.
