The Best of Thin Lizzy

Great book of thin lizzy songs. I was practing some scales, when I discovered it was a thin lizzy song part...leading me to be interested in learning the whole song and this seems pretty much on the money. ( phrygian..its the lick of "whiskey in the jar" an all time old favorite that metallica likes) sometimes you can figure songs by ear if you have enough information but this makes that a lot easier than guessing. Glad I bought it...even though Phil always worked with some pretty talented guitarist over the years! ( I think metallica doesn't cover thin dizzy well...it's better left to the imagination)

I have become a big fan of the " as recorded" series of music books. I always find something new in them.I had been looking for a Thin Lizzy book for awhile and could not believe my luck in finding this version.These books have complete transcriptions for all guitar parts in both music notation and tabs.I am having to relearn parts of several songs lol.Just a fantastic series of music books.

some of the scores are wrong even some of the alternate tuning is nor mentioned like The Boys Are Back in Town tuned ½ step down but not mentioned in the book beside that that is only one you could find Thin Lizzy song book with tab so deal with it

Gotta say I was really dissappointed with the song choices. This being a guiter book, I was sure I'd see "Black Rose", "the Emerald" and such. Some of the tunes selected weren't even particularly well-known, so I'm not sure how the songs were selected. Confounding.

The current version of this songbook (with Phil on the cover) does in fact include TAB along with notation unlike the one mentioned by a previous reviewer. Solos and fills are also included and harmony parts are broken out. The songs transcribed seem to be mostly accurate if not dead on. As with a lot guitar tab I see, I question some of the fingerings but you at least have the right notes to work with.My only minor complaint is the song selection, I would prefer to dump stuff like Sarah, Do Anything You Want, and Waiting for an Alibi for something else like Black Rose, Cold Sweat, or Holy War, etc. I give it 4 stars because ultimately I wish it included more songs than it does but there is an extremely limited amount of other Thin Lizzy tab available out there so this book is certainly worth buying.

Alit of tab books are done cheap and lazily. Not the case here, thank goodness. Bang on and with 2 guitar oars and solos. You won't be dissapointed

Mostly a good book for learning thin lizzy songs, some of the staffs weren't marked for which guitar part it was, other than that good.

i've loved the guitars in thin lizzy for many years,and to me,this book hits the right notes.

Standard tab edition of the music, with fairly authentic transcription. It is best used in conjunction with the album live and dangerous or the other studio compilation of Thin Lizzy's greatest hits. Reasonable delivery etc.
