300 Chrome Ballpoint Pen with Gold Tone Trim

I searched YouTube and Reddit for reviews and opinions on this pen, and came up with nothing, even though Schaeffer is a well-known pen, right up there with Cross and Parker. There weren't a lot of reviews at the time on Amazon either. I bought this on how it looked and on the info Amazon provided. Here's my impressions: This is a very well-made, professional-looking pen that you would think would be very expensive yet isn't. It is a twist to reveal the refill. The Schaeffer name is etched nicely in the middle. The top has two ridges that look classy along with the iconic white dot, and two sets of two ridges near the middle, above and below the Schaeffer name. I hate boring clips; this one is excellent with the space in the middle, similar to a Waterman. It looks good in your shirt pocket. This is a pen with some heft. If you like a pen on the heavy side, this is for you. I have essential tremor and a heavier pen seems to work better for me. It is not as slim as most pens. It writes well, but I plan to try a Monteverde refill, which I also use in my Parker IM pen; not the same one, but they make separate refills for both pens. That'll be my next Amazon order. It's important to me to have a professional looking pen without over-spending. This is exactly what I want in a pen, all-around.

I really like the Scheaffer 300 period. It has a solid weight to it. It fits my hand well and it makes writing with it easy and fun. This green color looks better than I anticipated and it is a welcomed addition to my collection.

The chrome and gold two-tone Sheaffer 300 ballpoint pen is a large, attractive pen that feels weighty. I’d describe this as a medium point pen, and it retracts by a twisting mechanism. I had to adapt to writing with this pen as I’ve grown so accustomed to writing with skinny, lightweight disposable pens and this pen didn’t feel balanced to me at first. I’d probably still prefer a thinner pen, but I do find this pen reasonably comfortable now that I’ve changed my grip and hold it lower where it’s thinner and let the weight of the pen rest against my hand. This pen glides smoothly, and I’ve experienced no ink skipping or blotting issues. This pen came with black ink that’s too light for my taste, so I’ll be buying a blue refill soon. I’m at a desk all day and enjoy having a more attractive, executive looking pen. This pen comes nicely presented in a box for gifting. Overall, I like this Sheaffer pen a lot. 4 stars.

I was nervous about this purchase because 1. It's made in China. 2. Other reviews said it's top heavy. Well it's not as great a construction as a Waterman but for $30 it's a steal! Great weight, it is a little too heavy but with my big hands it actually angles right to write smoother. The feel is perfect. I am very happy I made this purchase. Going to try the taranis next.

Ive had a number of Scheaffer pens over the years and never a disappointment. From the design, to the weight, fit and smooth functionality, I continue to find them to be my first choice. Having owned several 'designer brands', this is my first choice......

I am not an expert but I really like this ballpoint pen. It has some weight to it which I like. It also writes perfect and the color and style of the pen is very cool. I would recommend this pen.

This a beautiful pen, with good weight and nicely balanced. When I go to a ballpoint instead of a fountain pen, this is the one I use.

I use a pen daily in connection with my employment and quality is important to me. I have previously purchased Cross pens but I have always liked the look of Sheaffer also and when I was browsing primarily for another cross pen I saw this one for sale. At this price it is unbelievable value. In the hand it feels nice and weighted and comfortable to use, it also flows well when writing and I M glad I have chosen Schaefer this time. Credit to the supplier too for prompt delivery of a great pen - well done!!
