Perfect for high cervix!
I struggled with the Diva cup (both sizes) on and off for several years. The cups were personally too hard for me and would migrate so high up I had an extremely hard time removing the cup. Not to mention that the rims seemed to push on my bladder and no matter how small I'd try to squish the cup on removal, it was painful! Fast forward to quarantine and I decided to give menstrual cups a try again. I did a ton of research and while the quiz on the Put a Cup In It website suggested the Lily cup for my high cervix (which I didn't realize was a thing until I found that website!) the Lily cup sadly ended up being just too soft and getting a good seal every single time is difficult. (Though when I did manage to get a good seal the Lily cup was great!) Since the Lily cup experience was so-so for me I kept searching and that's when I found the Venus cup on Menstrual cup previews website and decided to try the starter kit as the price was perfect for both sizes. I love it! I haven't tried the small size as my flow this month was super heavy. At first I was leery by how big the large appears but once I get it in and into the right place it fits perfectly. Weird thing about it though is for every other cup I've tried I always use the 'Punch Down' fold. However, for me and the large Venus cup, the only fold that works is the 'C' fold. Go figure!? I don't always feel or hear the pop of the cup opening but this cup was easier for me to nudge back and forth and up and down and every time I gave it a chance it did open up properly and make a seal for me with not much extra effort or having to remove it and try again. Also I was leery about the big round base of it and expected it to push on my bladder or feel uncomfortable. It's not the case! It's also not difficult for me to grab the base of and break the seal. With my high cervix this cup, because of its size, doesn't travel so far up that it's difficult to get out. I don't trim the stem at all and can find the cup easily (REMEMBER NEVER PULL THE CUP OUT BY THE STEM! IT'S JUST TO HELP YOU FIND THE CUP TO REMOVE AND ALSO SHIFT THE CUP INTO PLACE AFTER INSERTING!) The rim is much softer on this cup than the Diva's and though the Venus is larger, it is not near as painful to remove as the whole cup itself is a bit softer in feel than the Diva (though nowhere near as soft as the Lily cup) I'm still learning this whole process but I have to say that 9 out of 10 times I have gotten the Venus large in, opened properly, gotten a good seal and had no leaks! It holds a lot and it great for us super heavy flow ladies. I'm very glad I tried this cup and I think it may definitely be the one! Every woman's body is different and what works for me may not work for you but if any of the issues I've mentioned or comparisons to other cups sound similar to you then this cup might be the ticket for you as well. Also as a side note, after purchasing the cup I got 2 separate emails from the Venus cup company through Amazon, one with a separate .pdf of the instruction manual (which by the way is the best I have seen for ANY cup! It's full of great info!) and the second email was just reaching out to make sure everything was okay and seeing if I was happy with the cup/had any questions. While most of the time I get a bit annoyed by this kind of email, I found this really nice of the company to do. Especially in making sure I had an extra manual! You rarely get that sort of extra treatment and I appreciated their effort.

It works great for heavy flow and is comfortable
I have a really heavy menstrual flow the first few days of my period (my mother said she did too, guess it's a genetic thing). Tampons are pretty much useless with heavy flow, wearing an overnight pad during the day is ridiculously bulky and uncomfortable. Menstrual cups can hold a lot between changes, so I decided to give them a go. I've tried the DivaCup that I found at the local drugstore, but then I saw this Venus Cup that can hold more. The DivaCup has more of a V shape, whereas the Venus Cup is more of a U shape, which gives the Venus Cup more capacity. I thought it might feel uncomfortable with the U shape, but it's not, it sits up high enough where you don't know it's there and it's got a nice soft silicone material. It definitely suctions in place to prevent any leaks. I got the Venus Cup Starter Kit so I could try both sizes, but so far I've just used the larger size and it's worked fine. The cups come with nice canvas-type bags to store them in, and I received a booklet that has detailed instructions, FAQ and even troubleshooting tips. That's super awesome for a first-timer--honestly, after looking through the booklet, you'll pretty much be an expert on menstrual cups--it's that amazingly useful. Since I've used a menstrual cup before, I personally didn't even need the instructions-- just opened the box, rinsed off the cup, and popped it in no problem--but again, I'd used a menstrual cup before. The first time I'd ever tried using a menstrual cup was a different story! The main things I need from a menstrual cup are large holding capacity with no leaks and that the cup is comfortable. I also want the cup to last a long time so that it pays for itself with the money I don't spend on pads or tampons. This is made from high-quality silicone that can stand up to boiling, so I get the feeling it's going to last a long time (booklet says it could last 10 or more years). Also, the Venus Cup material has a purple color that stays true, unlike the clear DivaCup that starts turning yellow after one or two uses. What else can I add? Oh, the shipping was very fast, I received it 2 days after ordering (on a Saturday) even though I don't have Amazon Prime. It works for me and is comfortable, so I can highly recommend the Venus Cup if you are searching for a menstrual cup to buy.

Good cup especially for heavy days
This cup works so good for me. I had really heavy periods since getting a copper IUD. I didn’t know what to even do (used regular cup and period panties and would still leak onto my clothes on my heavy day(s)).This cup allows me to get through my workday with no leaks. I like the inside cup measurements-has helped me learn how much flow on which day -and prepare accordingly! The rim and cup itself does not feel too “hard/uncomfortable” -I don’t recommend using it for non-heavy days because thanks when I do feel it’s uncomfortable.

Finally a good size, but has its cons.
I'm 6'2, birthed 3 children, so naturally all parts of my body are larger than the average 5'4 woman. I also tend to get pretty heavy periods. My previous cups, (Dutchess L) I had issues with them leaking because they would get too full, or move out of place while I'm active and start leaking. Also, it seems like they were worse quality/more porous because I had an issue with them smelling. I've tried a disc and it allows too much flow to sneak out when I'm active or sitting different ways. So I can only use it on lighter days. This Large Venus cup was such an improvement because even though it has the same diameter as my last set, the fuller bowl shape (instead of more of a soft V shape) keeps it in place, and large capacity keeps on l it from leaking. On my heaviest day, I've had it fill ¾ from the top - and when I pinch it to take it out, there's enough room still so it doesn't spew blood all over my hand - it is completely contained. I've been using this cup for a year now, and just by rinsing it with water when I change it, and doing a 24h hydrogen peroxide / water soak 1:1 between every period, it's in perfect condition. No staining, no smells. I typically change it morning, afternoon, night to keep it from developing an odor. But sometimes just morning then evening, but I have to look at the time more carefully then. BIGGEST CON: Due to large size and firmness, I find it a little more painful/crampy on the first day. Also I have a hard time peeing because it's holding such a full shape inside me pressing on everything else. I have to press on my abdomen while I pee just to fully empty my bladder, and even then, the pee stream is really slow and takes too long, and at the end I wonder if I got out all out. So it really makes peeing uncomfortable. Also, it presses so much, it makes me feel like I need to pee more. I looked up a menstrual cup chart stats, and this one came up as 3 out of 5 for firmness making it completely average in firmness. So now I am shopping to find something similar size but softer.

Goldilocks cup for heavy menstrual flow
This product is amazing. I have very heavy periods, as in I can't use tampons or disposable pads because unless I want to visit the bathroom every 1/2-1 hour normal daily life activities really aren't possible. I have been using menstrual cups for 5 months now hoping they would help my situation and decrease my imprint upon the earth. I have used Saalt Sensitive large cup and Organicup small. The Saalt Sensitive I struggled with forever, always leaking, never staying sealed, slipping during use, and when I was working out my pelvic muscles would literally collapse the entire thing. Organicup small worked well, but was exactly that...small. I was having to empty the cup at minimum every 2 hours which was annoying. So I tried Venus. All problems solved! Soft enough to be gentle on my very sensitive anatomy, firm enough to get a seal every single time without having to fidget with it forever! The 'small' venus holds way more than all other 'smalls' in other brands but a good option for not so heavy days and when cervix is a little lower. The 'large' has a great capacity and surprisingly not that "intimidating" of a size; it is comparable to my Saalt large cup in size but holds way more! It is a little long, so I don't wear it all through cycle, only on my very heavy days when my cervix is higher. If cervix is lower, it does contact it a bit and not so comfortable. But it has made my life manageable again. No more trying to figure out how I can use the bathroom every 2 hours; I can wear it for 4 hours at least on my very heaviest days. I did have to trim the stem in both cups, but I do that for all cups. I have never felt the stem and the base is awesome, good firmness with a tread that is very easy to grab a hold of. With some menstrual panties as back up for just in case, these products have given me back freedom to live my life. GREAT OPTION for heavy menstrual flow. And the two sizes are awesome to have to use on different days of my cycle. I have finally found my Goldilocks cup and so thankful to Venus for making such a great product that is reasonably priced and made in the USA. GOOD JOB VENUS!

Decent product
I have a heavy flow on two days of my period. I also own a Diva Cup in size 2, which is smaller than the L Venus. The Venus holds more, but both cups leak on my heaviest days. I have to wear a maxi pad with the Venus on those days. Then the cup needs to be emptied and the pad changed after about five hours on those two heavy days. It’s not that the cup is full: it just leaks if my flow is heavy. It doesn’t leak as much as the Diva, which is why I own two cups. The Venus is physically harder than the Diva. It is also noticeably bigger and more difficult to insert and remove. It actually hurts to insert and remove, but it will pop open consistently once in. It takes patience to work with this cup. But the leakage is less than with the Diva, which is important for overall security when on my period because I often have to wait hours to empty my cups.

POSSIBLY MY NEW GOLDILOCKS CUP <3
I got the two pack, it came with small and large, two bags, and probably one of the most descriptive user manuals I’ve ever seen. Which is a good thing for new people!!!! So I did a dry run with this cup because I won’t have a cycle for another month, and I’ll edit this later. Any who, I have 3 cups prior to this one. My main cup that I always go to is my diva cup size 1. I got the large Venus because it’s about the same length as the diva cup, but holds more due to the shape (which I can’t wait to see how long it takes to fill on those heavy days!) for once I didn’t have to remove the stem on this cup! It’s short but very bendy and doesn’t poke me like all my other cups do. It opens with ease when inserted (I use the punch down fold with all my cups.) when inside, it doesn’t push on my bladder like my saalt regular cup. And removal was easier than my diva cup (I think it felt better because it’s smooth and rounded unlike my diva cup which is cone shaped and pointy.) so far I’m sold! Perfect firmness (same firmness as a diva cup which is a level 3), opens very easily, comfortable stem that I don’t have to remove, removal is less irritating due to how smooth it is, and better capacity due to its shape. So if you like diva cups, then this is definitely an upgrade for you, or if you found the diva cup was a tad too long, the small will be a nice option due to it being a few mm shorter. (The size small is also a nice starter size. Little smaller in length and width. Smaller than my size 1 diva cup. But a good starter size, not to big and not to small. I’ll be giving it to my friend because I wanted the big one, and for a few extra dollars I got both. ) (Edit): so I finally got to use this on my cycle and I’m in love. My heavy days don’t feel heavy with this cup because it holds so much. My diva would fill up after about 3 hours on a heavy day. Out of fear I checked at a 4 hour mark on my heavy day, and it didn’t even reach the half way mark. I haven’t had leaks At all. And removal is so much nicer feeling on my body Due to the round soft base (my diva cup made me sore or it jabbed me during removal. ) I’m pretty sure I have a new Goldilocks. I still love my diva cup.... but I think I love my Venus large more <3

The Best Cup I've Tried for Heavy Days
I have been using this product since May 2021. I never write product reviews, but to be honest, this product has been so good for me that I felt I should. I have tried other brands of menstrual cups, and the larger ones seem to be either too soft or not big enough. The large size is perfect for my heaviest day. I used to go through a super tampon about every 1-2 hours, and even with 25-27ml cup, I would have to get up once or twice at night to change it. With the large Venus cup (max of 47ml), I have had no problems sleeping through the night and no big rush to empty it in the morning either. It doesn't seem to by physically much different than other brands, just wider at the base. I have found that the wider base is helpful because you can sort of feel it getting heavier when it is about half full... so I can 100% relax. I know it isn't leaking or about to be full to the brim. It is comfortable and only noticeable if I think about it. I don't worry about going for long walks, getting up in the night, or running lots of errands. On heavy days, I can easily wear it for 6+ hours without a problem. I decided to write this review because I realized that I often forget that I have my period now, even on the heaviest day. It is not a big deal anymore. I don't know that it is life-changing, but it is definitely life-improving. The learning curve for me was incredibly short. I figured out that a z-fold works best on the large cup on my second insertion and have had no further issues. It is much firmer than other high capacity cups... It is so quick and easy to put in that I use it for the entire cycle and don't bother with the small one. I believe it comes with a pamphlet on different ways to fold it, for people new to cups. I've found that a z-fold, gentle tug out, and then push back in gets it set perfectly. As for removal, the width of the base makes it easy to grab, which breaks the seal with no problem. For those who have used cups before, you won't have any issues with insertion and removal. That's it. I'm a fan, and I don't think I'll be investing in any other styles or sizes until Venus inevitably tweaks their design and ruins it. Companies love doing that.

Looks very cheap - definitely not worth the price
Not happy with the packaging. Product looks very cheap and already used. No value for money.
