Would love to crack this book open but won't because I bought it for my Dad for Christmas. Can't wait until he's done reading it so I can borrow it

My "Detroit Experience" was from the 1950's through the 1970's when my grandparents lived there. We visited quite often. This did bring back memories for me, but I got the book specifically for my 87 year old Mother who grew up there. I would have liked to see more of the neighborhoods and more of places like Belle Isle, but it is a good book and I believe she will enjoy it.

Amazon is sending me two books at two different prices. Love this book!

David Lee Poremba is an excellent writer. He features wonderful photos of Detroit and clearly explains the history associated with the photo. The most enjoyable part is he includes a few lighthearted comments along the way. Reading this book is like having an old friend explain how things were back in the day.

I grew up in Detroit.Brought back fond memories.

Bought this for my father in law whois 85. He has really enjoyed this because he has lived all his life in Detroit. It is a walk down memory lane.I am anxiously awaiting my turn to look at it. Great period pictures.
