You can’t go wrong with KASA!
Let me start by saying that I have purchased MANY KASA products over the years. I’ve purchased several of these outlets and I’ve also purchased several of the plugs as well. You just can’t beat KASA. These outlets are excellent quality and extremely easy to install. My Husband has installed so many of these around our house at this point that he can have one installed in about five minutes. I really think KASA stands out above their competitions for a couple of reasons. First, pricing. They run sales ALL the time. Their pricing is lower than a lot of their competitions while not sacrificing quality. Second, quality of the products. Every item I’ve purchased from this company has been excellent quality and worked flawlessly out of the box. I’ve never had a KASA product malfunction. Some of the plugs I’ve had from this company for over five years now and they’re still working as well now as the first time I plugged them in. Thirdly, and the most important in my opinion is ease of use. Their user interface on their app is EXTREMELY user friendly. There isn’t a bunch of bells and whistles that’s true, however I just need these to do a job, do it well, without a bunch of hassle in setting it up and programming it. KASA definitely delivers there. Their app is so easy to use. It guides you step by step on initial set up. After that the app is extremely user friendly and makes it easy for you to program, sort and organize all your devices. It also works flawlessly with my ALEXA devices and I’ve been able to turn on and off all my KASA plugs and outlets with my ALEXA devices with zero issues. All in all you just can’t go wrong with this company. KASA does a job, does it well, while making the experience easy to use all at a fair price. I’m definitely a fan.

Clean look, smart features, but install required
The Kasa KP200 is a great option if you want a cleaner, built-in smart home setup instead of bulky plug-in adapters. Since it replaces a standard wall outlet, it looks much more seamless and keeps things uncluttered. Setup through the Kasa app is straightforward, and once connected, you get solid functionality—remote control, scheduling, timers, and voice control with Alexa or Google Assistant. Being able to control two outlets individually is a big plus and adds flexibility. Performance-wise, it’s reliable for everyday use. Turning devices on/off remotely works well, and scheduling features are especially useful for lights or appliances. However, there are a couple of things to keep in mind. Installation is more involved than a regular smart plug since it requires wiring (and a neutral wire), so it may not be ideal for everyone. Also, like most Kasa devices, it only works on 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, which can be limiting in some setups. Pros: Clean, built-in design (no bulky plug) Controls two outlets independently Works with Alexa, Google, and app control Scheduling, timers, and automation features Cons: Requires wiring/installation (not plug-and-play) Needs 2.4GHz Wi-Fi only No energy monitoring (compared to some newer models) Overall: A solid and reliable smart outlet if you want a permanent, clean-looking solution. Great for upgrading your home setup—just be ready for a bit of installation work.

Great In-Wall Smart Outlet with Two Individually Controlled Sockets!
I installed the Kasa Smart Wi-Fi Power Outlet KP200 in my living room to replace a regular outlet, and it works exactly as advertised. The dual-socket design is perfect because I can control each plug independently. Right now I have one socket running my lamp and the other controlling our Christmas tree so both are on schedules and voice commands through Alexa. Super convenient. Setup was straightforward for someone comfortable with basic wiring (neutral wire required). The included instructions and wire nuts made it easy, and it fit neatly into a standard single-gang box with the provided wall plate. The whole job took me about 15-20 minutes. The Kasa app is very user-friendly and reliable. I love setting automatic schedules (lights on at sunset, off at bedtime), using Away Mode when we’re traveling, and the direct 2.4GHz Wi-Fi connection has been rock-solid with zero dropouts so far. The outlet looks clean and modern, the individual buttons on the faceplate are handy as a manual backup, and the build quality feels solid with a tamper-resistant design. Highly recommend if you want a clean, permanent smart solution without bulky plug-in adapters all over the place. Excellent value and works flawlessly.

Great solution for deck lights and outdoor gear
I installed the Kasa KP200 to control the string lights on my deck so I can turn them on and off with Alexa instead of flipping a manual switch. Voice control is instant and reliable — no lag, no disconnects, it just works. The second outlet runs a bug zapper, and the dusk-to-dawn automation is perfect for that so it’s not running 24/7 unnecessarily. Nice to have automation where it makes sense without overcomplicating things. Both outlets are independently controllable, the app is straightforward, and it installs like a standard outlet. Build quality feels solid and it’s stayed connected without any babysitting. Important note: if you’re installing this outdoors, it needs to be in a proper weather-proof box. If hardwiring an in-wall outlet outdoors isn’t an option, Kasa also sells an outdoor-rated plug-in smart outlet that works with an existing receptacle and does the same job. Reliable, practical, and actually useful in the real world. No gimmicks.

Works well
Product works great. Easy to install IF you know what you’re doing, don’t do it if you’re not sure. Very nice to be able to shut off and have a timer. The faceplate that came with it did not work for me, as the wall wasn’t perfectly flush so it would not snap on. I had to modify it to work. And also make sure you have really good WiFi to use this or it will not work well

Reliable and long lasting! Highly recommend!
I highly recommend the Kasa brand. I’ve tried them all, Gosund, Leviton, you name it. I’ve had smart home technology and products in my home for about 8-9 years now. When I first started I had a few Kasa products, and in our last remodel project, we converted everything to Kasa. We’ve had no trouble with it dropping WiFi or acting up at all. Always works as designed. We have smart plugs, smart switches, and the plug in portable indoor and outdoor smart plugs and power strips. We have even used these indoor rated ones inside a waterproof exterior outlet cover outdoors as well. These are awesome for powering lamps and accent lighting above art or holiday lighting like Christmas trees, lights, garlands and more. We even use ours to control little floor fans and scentsy warmers. They were also a good solution for my closet glass cabinet accent lighting. I had the plug in style cabinet lighting. I hid the I outlet up high in the cabinet and used one of these smart plugs. Then I synchronized the plug to turn on every time the Kasa closet light switch was turned on when we walked in. That way I just turned on one light and the devices were synced. There are so many ways to be creative with these! Each plug is allowed a different name and works independently. It can be controlled by Alexa and Google Home perfectly! Keep in mind, you first have to install the Kasa app to set them up originally and connect them to your home WiFi network, then you can add the device to your Alexa or Google Home network. I’m sure it works fine with Apple Home or others too; they just aren’t in use at my house. If you’re having any trouble adding the device to Alexa, don’t forget you have to first enable the Kasa skill in your Alexa app. That syncs your Kasa account to Alexa and gives it permission to see and control all of your Kasa devices. I love these so much, I’ve bought them for my brother and dad for their homes too. They use them for snow villages and bedroom lamps. There are lots of uses. The sky is the limit. Mine have lasted so far at least 8 years. I run an occasional update in my app…less than once a year per device. They last and stay current for years. Unlike buying smart bulbs that die out with time.

TP-Link is a Quality Name in the Internet of Things Community
I have over 50 smart WiFi devices connected to a Google Mesh home network. The 20+ TP-Link smart devices in the network perform without a technical hitch and are reliable. The Kasa/TP-Link (KP200) WiFi two-outlet, in-wall receptacle is no exception. IF it is installed properly (see below), the KP200 works well and is easy to install (neutral white wire required!!). WARNING FOR AMATEUR ELECTRICIANS (like me): I am NOT an electrician, however, I've personally replaced most of the wall switches and receptacles in my home without a single issue. I have also replaced ceiling fans, light fixtures and bathroom exhaust fans -- also without any issues. So, I was very confident installing he KP200 would be another cakewalk. However, this time I got in a little over my head installing the KP200, and it required an EXPENSIVE visit by a licensed electrician to make things right again. I learned, here in Arizona (and probably other states too), the safety code requires ANY WALL RECEPTACLE (outlet) within 15 feet of running water (such as kitchen sink or bathroom sink/tub/shower) must be a ground-fault circuit interrupter (GFCI). This is also sometimes called a "GFI outlet." My "open concept" kitchen area has eight wall receptacles (all with NO "GFCI" markings or the usual GFI test/reset buttons); therefore, I did not know they were GFCI. About 14 feet from my kitchen sink is a "pantry" -- which is far enough away from the kitchen sink not to worry about water splashing. The pantry has two above-counter wall receptacles (which I later learned are UNMARKED GFCI receptacles). So, when I replaced one of the UNMARKED GFCI outlets with the KP200, everything went to hell in a handbasket. The KP200 would not work properly, AND the other seven "kitchen" outlets were inoperable as well. In short (pun intended), the electrician said the KP200 is NOT a GFCI unit, and replacing the GFCI with the KP200 -- not only violated the state's electrical code, but it was also created a substantial safety hazard by breaking the chain of protection provided by the eight outlets connected to the unmarked GFCI circuit. (Once I went to the outside electrical panel, it was visually obvious some of the breakers were GFCI, but inside the home, nothing indicates their GFCI status). Although the electrician has an excellent reputation for quality work, he is "VERY OLD SCHOOL." As such, there are TWO THINGS he absolutely HATES: (1) ALL home automation smart devices (don't even mention the word - "Alexa" to him); (2) ANY "weekend-warrior" homeowner who is not a licensed electrician and does his own electrical work. That said, I not only received a very stern verbal admonishment regarding electrical safety, I also received an invoice for $150. (I think some of the $150 was punitive.) Expensive lesson learn. So, BEFORE you swap-out your old electrical outlet for a TP-LINK KP200, be CERTAIN it is NOT an UNMARKED CFCI receptacle. By the way, the next day, I installed the KP200 in a bedroom, and it works as expected! It is an excellent and reliable name-brand product! ONE LAST CAVEAT: I only purchase smart devices made by large, well-established technology companies, such as TP-Link. Why? Most "Internet of Things" (IOT) smart devices COMMUNICATE to the world outside your home in order to function. That means IOT devices are potentially the WEAKEST LINK in your home Internet/network security. In other words, you need to purchase IOT devices from companies that have the financial resources and technical expertise to update BOTH the firmware and software of their products -- as the product ages. This updating helps defend your home network against hackers who exploit "cheap," no-name IOT device to gain access to the rest of your home network, computers, smartphones, tablets, and etc. I hope this helps.

KP200
