Fluke 773 Advanced Milliamp Process Clamp-Meter

This unit performs outstanding! Recently, I was on a job where I had to use all of the functions. Measure without breaking the circuit, source, simulate all from one meter. With the clamp-on milli-amp measuring feature with an extention cord that allows you to remove the clamp jaws, there is no need to take down a system while you hook up a loop calibrator. It does it all such as simulating a feedback device, sourcing a milli-amp signal, and in-line measuring as well. Well worth the money, but...But! My batteries in the unit were dead on arrival! I measured the batteries and all four AA batteries measured only 0.8VDC! For over $1,000.00 dollars, you figure Fluke could verify that the batteries in the unit were good! It delayed the job while I had to run out and buy some batteries. I expect more from Fluke!Otherwise, anybody that works with process controls would have a great troubleshooting advantage by having one of these.

I was a controls engineer for 3 and a half years before my new job... a controls engineer. After a year, I finally bought what my last job provided for me. It's not that my new job wasn't willing to buy this item; I simply wanted to own it myself. $1300 (at the time of my purchase) wasn't chump change for me. The value of this item is simply far reaching and invaluable to have with me for years if the worst happens with my current employer. For loop powered devices and troubleshooting ANYTHING, this isn't A tool: it's the only tool. Having worked in pharmaceutical environments where disconnecting a device can literally cost millions of dollars: there aren't a lot of choices for checking signals in loop powered devices without disconnecting them. This is one of the most perfect tools for a specific application I've ever seen in my life.Downside to this purchase: the Chinese model showed up. The screen and even the manual are in English, but everything else is in Chinese. Is there any issues with China getting a second stream item? Have I gotten one of those items? The meter looks and acts like the normal one, but I'll stick it out. $1300... Yikes

It is nice not having to break the circuit when troubleshooting 4-20 ma circuits.

Fluke has the best and accurate tools.

Meter seems to work well but clamp feels cheap. Be gentle or it won't last long. Misleading description! Amazon CS agreed it is, but they have not fixed item description or made things right by me. If the TLK 220 set is NOT INCLUDED then DONT put it in the "about this item" area! ! !I have 100's of amazon orders personally, $1000s spent, and have only called them 3 times with a CS issue. Buyer beware!

Clamp on milliamp meter works magically well. Ability to measure and source signals makes troubleshooting much quicker and easier for controls work.
