Perfect for monitor-less VR experience
Purchased this to run my Oculus VR experience without needing a monitor. Configured system to auto-login to account and start VR application without user intervention, but without a monitor attached, would never start the VR interface. This adapter emulates the connection of a HDMI monitor circumventing this issue and the system works as expected.** One thing to note for anyone doing this on their system. The HDMI connection also simulates an audio connection as well. Despite making the HMD audio the default, in some games, the audio wanted to switch to the HDMI. This was easily corrected by disabling the HDMI audio device. Cannot fault the device for this, may have just been my system but throwing it out there in case someone else runs into a similar issue.

Works perfectly to avoid Nvidia LHR
This does exactly what it's intended for, it lets you trick your system into thinking there's a second screen so you can turn off your monitor while mining on newer Nvidia GPUs with LHR installed.

Works as intended, with a minor inconvenience.
I bought this to have a dummy desktop display I could record with OBS Studio without connecting another monitor. It has worked well for that. The only issue I've come across is that occasionally (probably like 33%) of the time my GFX card won't wake up when the computer comes out of sleep, and trying to force refresh the driver via the hotkey command doesn't work. It's a minor inconvenience for the low price.

Perfect for my headless Linux machine
Works perfectly with new Ubuntu 20.04 install. Allows up to 3840x2160 screen resolution when accessed remotely using RealVNC.Yes, I had to plug in a real monitor for BIOS setup and initial install, but once I had RealVNC server installed, I disconnected the monitor, plugged in the "dummy" and went back to work.

Works perfectly with Chrome Remote Desktop
I was getting terrible performance with Chrome Remote Desktop on a headless Windows 10 Pro machine acting as a file server. After installing this performance improved dramatically. I set the resolution to 1080P since I didn't need it running 4K.

Small and functional
I needed this to allow me to connect to a headless server remotely. For that it worked great. It's nice and small so it won't get caught on stuff behind the server, and just works. For as little as it costs, it's great!

Seems to work well for headless computer
I was having trouble with remote desktop when my monitor was powered off. This seems to solve the issue, so the monitor can stay off while the machine is still running and allow remote access.
