I got this rather recently so I have not had a chance to make too much from it but I can not wait to try so many of the recipes such as Sweet Pine Nut Pies and the Apple Pie which has such a nice twist to it with all kinds of jam. crème fraiche among other ingredients! The savory pies sound wonderful as well. I know I will love this book as I have his other book that I got first French Feasts.

a very appetizing cookbook
The cover says it all: great recipes of mouthwatering dishes with short and precise instructions. It is not really a book for beginners ofany kind of chefs but the information needed is there to prepare the dishes.

Disappointed.

The definitive Pie book
Amidst the plethora of baking and pie recipe books, this brings forward a Gallic flavour to the genre. These are excellent (and to British eyes) featuring a feast of unusual ingredients (I may pass on the smoked eel pie!). With the accent on presentation, there's plenty here for the dinner party, though not many designed to be eaten cold. Highly recommended, but not for the waistline!

Looks good, the recipes are good and its now well thumbed
This is a great book with excellent pies and tarts. Combined with easy to use instructions and methods the book walks a careful balance between useful and innovative. Its already well thumbed in the household

This is a great book, filled to the brim (Like the pies) with very interesting and very tempting looking recipes.I've made three so far, and they were so good, in a really novel (to me) way, I felt compelled to write a review.Amazing.
