Istonic TheraGel Memory Foam Bed Wedge Pillow - is a memory foam product and I'am pleased with its performance but I now know that if you are not used to sleeping elevated at an angle it takes time to get used to it and you must allow for that. Now to address some complaints that I've read about the product.1. It's not memory foam but just plain foam - not true my pillow I received is a light lavender colored one solid piece of memory foam2. Some say it has an odor? I did as the instructions said and removed the covering on the foam and I did let it air out for 24hrs. ( but I didn't smell any odors to begin with) so it didn't hurt to do that anyway.3. Came out of box crumpled up ? Yes it did come scrunched up in a box and the wedge tip was bent up and I had concerns about that but after removing it from its pillow case and letting it lie on a flat surface with just an ordinary pillow laid on top of the edge part of the tip that was bent up...the wedge pillow within 3 hrs. came back into shape* the only negative thing is the light weight wedge pillow case it comes with -it seems cheap made. - I guess the manufacture decided to cut a corner there.

Very comfortable
memory foam is the density I was looking for, firm enough to keep its shape, but soft enough to be comfortable. works well for my back troubles when sleeping. Also, yes, all memory foam has an odor when you first get it. The smell DOES go away over time. The chemicals used to make memory foam is what stinks. There is no way around that. If you air out the foam with NO sheets on it for a full 24 hours the smell dissipates quickly. I sewed a pillow case for mine and with the extra layer between me and the pillow I didn't notice the smell at all after a few days. The extra pillow case also helps keep the memory foam from absorbing a lot of your body heat, which I see another reviewer mentioned it being hot? I don't notice that at all, and I absolutely hate being hot when I'm trying to sleep. I typically only notice it being warmer in the summer months and then I have the air on anyways which compensates for the heat.

Isotonic TheraGel Memory Foam Bed Wedge Pillow, 2.5-Pound
The pillow case shrunk to an unusable size after being washed with warm water and tumble dried at low as the instructions stated. The pillow still has a strong odor after being aired out for 4 days.Is the pillow comfortable? I don't know. I am still looking for a replacement pillow case... I will update after I use it.Update 7/2/2014:I stretched the pillow case a bit, and managed to fit the pillow in it. It is a very very snug fit. The odor is a lot weaker now and barely noticeable unless I put the pillow against my nose. The pillow is too soft for proper support. I knew it would be soft, but thought that would make it comfortable if I sleep on my side; side-sleeping didn't work. The pillow is also too short for me; I am about 6 feet tall. While sleeping on my back, the shortness and softness of the pillow cause my back to arch like I am slouching, and I wake up with upper-back-pain. If I buy another wedge pillow, it will have to be firmer and at least 10 inches longer, so that my entire back is supported all the way to my waist or a little below the waist.1 star because I am not happy with this purchase and do not use the pillow.

Works for my purpose
I have both sleep apnea and acid reflux so I bought the pillow to keep my head elevated at a 45 degree angle. The pillow does that and the memory foam is good quality and comfortable. The only problem I have is that no matter where I begin the night's sleep, I slide down the pillow during the night until my shoulders are resting on the bed. Even with that, the pillow still helps with the apnea and reflux.

Try it before investing big bucks
Have had trouble with GIRD and decided to try this method rather than raising the whole bed or opting for a mechanical bed frame. Not really sure how much it aided in getting things under control, since my holiday diet and stress were probably the main culprit. If you are having problems, I'd try this to see if it works, then you can see if you need to go for the pricier alternatives.

As advertised
have had regular foam wedges before and found them to be worthless & uncomfortable. this memory foam wedge is the real deal, works mucho better and very comfortable. the only drawback for me, and why I gave it a 4 rather than 5 rating, is that I would prefer it to be a little wider...and why can you only find white replacement covers. otherwise, quite pleased with this product.

A very disappointing experance
Very disappointed in this wedge. There is little to no support, my wife can't tell that I'm on it with how little it raises me. I'm not a big guy either apx 179lb. I have never laid on anything so hot! I couldn't breath literally (its like lying on a plastic bag... hot a sweaty). If anybody likes to throw their money into the trash then here you go. Get hard a foam like a Polyurethene one they have better support, they cost less and some come with a lair of memory foam.

Good night sleep
Purchased this to help elevate my head as I have post nasal drip and also have a hard time breathing when I am flat in bed. This wedge has been a life saver I am now able to get at least 5 hrs of uninterrupted sleep
