Great sprayer, but do follow the instructions
I was rather wary of this item, I've used so called airless sprayers before and apart from spraying wood worm fluid not so good. I had around 100 metres of rough cast wall to paint and after several hours with deep pile rollers and large brushes was getting nowhere so I took a chance and ordered this sprayer. I have done a lot of spraying in my time, cars, custom kitchens and my side line of making electric guitars using a conventional HVLP spray gun but spraying that wall called for something different. The secret of spraying is two things, firstly getting the right viscosity for the paint, you can't go far wrong using the instructions, use the viscosity cup provided to check that the paint is the correct viscosity, if anything err on the thin side. I found that the masonry paint that I was using needed thinning by about 30%, sure the opacity isn't as good, but I found 2 coats did the trick and no aching wrist and lots of wasted paint on the roller Secondly the paint needs to be well stirred and filtered through an old pair of tights or a very fine sieve, try to skip either of these stages and you will be disappointed, either it won't spray at all (too viscous) or it constantly blocks (not filtered). It took me around 45 minutes to put 2 coats on 30 metres of my 1.5 metre high wall and once I had the volume of paint and the airflow adjusted correctly I was amazed. I don't know that I would spray a car with it as that requires much better atomisation of the paint, but for stuff like masonry paint or emulsion it's the way to go. Many decorators painting new houses tend to spray the emulsion rather than roller or brush it and this sprayer would do that fine once you've done the prep and got the adjustments right. Make sure you clean the sprayer as soon as you are finished. I washed out the container first and then ran lots of clean water through the gun before finally dismantling it to make sure that all traces of paint had been removed, as next time you use it paint that has dried in the sprayer will flake off and block the nozzle. Don't forget that if you are using a solvent based paint you will need to use the approrpriate solvent to clean it, and if the solvent is anything but water a mask is an absolute must and highly advisable for water based paints as well Mke sure that you use the right nozzle, the thinner the paint the smaller the nozzle by and large OK So 5 years on, I'm looking to paint a 5 metre sailing skiff that I have built and my thoughts turned to spraying it rather than the usual roller and brushed layoff. The paint is two pack polyurethane and despite the hype not the easiests of paints to spray (or indeed to roller) I decided against using my usual compressor powered spray guns (both conventional and HVLP) as the overspray is often greater than with an airless sprayer, and it is not recommended for this type of paint. So I used the NoCry and am suitably impressed with its ability to spray this stuff. Same as with other paints that I've sprayed with this gun, the viscosity and no lumps is critical to getting a good finish. So I wound up thinning the paint with the appropriate thinner, around 15% for the paint I was using. It took a while to get the right nozzle and volume setting right. The problem is always with vertical surfaces, too much paint and you get runs, too little and the surface does not coalesce into a uniform shiney finish. I wound up using the finest nozzle, the higher spray pressure setting and the gun about 8" from the surface, getting the flow rate right is quite tricky as not only the volume setting on the gun affects the outcoome but also the speed at which you move the gun, the margin for error with this type of paint is small, but I got there in the end. Airless sprayers have come a long way, but like conventional guns, setup, prep, paint viscosity, distance from the surface to be sprayed and the traverse speed is just as critical.

Spraying Ronseal fence life plus (YOU NEED TO BUY A PLASTIC FUNNEL)
Great product seems pretty well built I've used twice now and the results have been good. It does take some time to get the set up right so start on either a spare bit of timber or bit of wall thats less visable and dial the flow rate right down. Have a roller or brush at hand just incase you do get runs, but once set up correctly and you've got the hang of it you'll be flying. I was rattling off 6ft fence panels in about 4 mins with absolutely no runs at all. I used Ronseal fence life plus with the smallest nozzle and minimum air flow wide spread on the nozzle setting and adjusted the paint flow on the trigger to suit. I then used some left over Ronseal fence life paint from last year to give a gate a temporary quick lick and this was running on the same setting which was probably due to the paint being old. But this was easily combatted by slowing the paint flow rate with the trigger screw and the runs were easily smoothed over and mopped up with a roller which i then used on the narrow edges of the gate. All in all im very happy with the spray gun and would recommend it. I've got some concrete panels to spray and i don't doubt that as long as i thin the paint if necessary to the acceptable flow rate using thinners/water and flow cup it will work brilliantly.

Great little machine and customer support
Pretty tough little machine - used it for painting ceilings and walls in a large area. Worth the money. I was pleased with the result. Once you get the hang of using it and getting the correct consistency for the paint it can be an efficient process. Good lighting is needed to be able to see especially if you’re doing a second or third coat as it’s hard to see sometimes where you’ve been before. Excellent customer support as well.

Limited but okay
Overall an okay product. It handles fence paint, the very watery kind, well and you can quickly cover large surfaces, although you do end up refilling a lot. Anything thicker it struggles with, and this is when you dilute it down to the required consistency to get it to flow. I was hoping to use emulsion through it too but it doesn't seem to cope with the larger paint particles. Cleaning isn't too bad but there are a fair few small tight areas that are a pain to get clean.

Bought As A Quick Fix
I've been through several different makes and models. This was the cheapest but the best of the bunch. I've used this to paint multiple rooms and ceilings and it has surpassed my expectations. Bought the Wagner which was more than double the price it packed up after only two uses, so I bought this one as a replacement to get me out of a fix. Not only did it succeed but it did a much better job too. Far less over spray than the Wagner. It's dead easy to use as long as you thin the paint down properly. This is a little time consuming but is absolutely necessary and applies to all of these types of sprayer. The adjustable power dial helps to get the right flow for the job too. When you've finished just take apart and rinse thoroughly in warm soapy water and flush it through till it runs clear. My biggest gripe is the cord is not nearly long enough. It really could be doing with at least double the length to allow you to scale steps to paint ceilings etc. I'm seriously considering replacing the cord with a 3m length. Secondly, the clogging is an major issue. As the sprayer gets hot it dries the paint and clogs the jet. I've found the only workaround is to clean the jets in warm soapy water after every 3 refills of paint. As much as this is a pita it still beats the hell out of rollering. Those gripes aside for £50 you cant complain. So far I've painted the entire upstairs of my house and the finish is superb. To put it into perspective I painted an entire ceiling of a large double bedroom including the bay in a matter of minutes. Would definitely recommend this purchase. The free extended warranty was an added bonus.
