Travelon: Packable Folding Tote Bag

This will be a glowing review. As a former airline employee, I travel standby and often by the time I’m able to board, the overhead bins are full. I ordered this Travelon tote to hold basically everything in my roller carry-on, so at the last minute, I can yank it out and gate-check my roller bag and still have all the essentials (makeup, prescriptions, change of clothes, etc.) under my control. There’s nothing quite as infuriating as must-have items in baggage that’s been checked through on a connecting flight that was too full for me to claim a seat.After I packed and fit the first Travelon tote in my carry-on, I immediately ordered a second to replace the Samsonite tote I usually carry with my purse and electronics inside. The new tote is much lighter and even though it’s slightly smaller, holds just as much as the Samsonite. People’s shoes walk nasty things onto airline carpet and the tote prevents my purse from making contact when it’s under the seat in front of me.Yesterday was the new Travelons first test and they both passed with flying colors. I love the ability to slip the sleeve over my carry-on’s handle and the Velcro patches assure it won’t rotate to the side. If you’re wondering why I bother with the carry-on in the first place, the items I pack in it are heavier, which I’d rather roll than carry through mile-long airport concourses.The bags are sturdy and when I’ve worn them out, I’ll replace them with the same product, so yes, I’d buy them again and highly recommend them.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this bag. Although I bought it for vacation I took, I now take it with me in my day purse for when I buy something and need a bag. Which is a lot. The shoulder drop is over 12", which is mandatory for me to be able to lift it to my shoulder without my elbow getting in the way. It's SUPER light, which is key. I sent back a different bag that was too heavy. The outsides of the bag-when-folded becomes the bottom when opened, which provides a nice flat bottom for when you set it down and look for stuff. However, the bottom isn't so stiff that it digs into your sides and arms when you carry it over your shoulder. Hate that. I didn't notice it before I bought it but one of the outside pockets has a zipper on the BOTTOM, so that you can unzip that and loop that "pocket" over the handle of your roller bag! Yipee! I hadn't even noticed it on the way TO vacation but I used that all day when traveling home! It's nice that the other pocket zips closed too so you don't lose anything and can store something valuable. Overall a great find.

This is a great travel tote! The folded up size fits neatly into a slim spot in my carryon. When open, it carries a lot. It is a double layer of fabric and is a free-form, unstructured shape for flexible and durable use. If you need something with a firm structure, you may need to something inside it like a heavy paper bag or plastic container to give it that structure. The medallion print is very pretty and the subtle colors fits well with other pieces or outfits. I used it for shopping, laundry, and overflow packing while I was at my destination. When it was time to return I just folded it back up and stowed it in my carryon. I recommend this, especially if you are a "carryon only" air traveler!

Bought this to corral the dog stuff in my SUV. I just keep putting the stuff lying on the floorboards into it to see what it would hold. Here's the list: 2 10' leads; 1 6' lead; 3 rolls of poop bags; 1 Chuck-it (14" length); 3 tennis balls; 1 Easy-Walk harness (large); and 2 plastic bowls that nest (about 7" diameter and 3"). Still had room to put in 3 Turkish Peshtemals that I use for dog towels or blankets (each measure 35" x 70")--a win I didn't expect. (Peshtemals are miracle towels: thin, absorb a lot, dry quickly, and they don't hold dog fur.) The bag still zipped easily. Took the bag (and the dog) camping this weekend--it worked great. Don't know how it this light-weight bag will do for the long haul but my SUV back floorboards have never been this tidy.

I wanted a lightweight super-packable tote bag with a zippered top to take with me on my next trip in case I come home with more than I left with. This fit the bill perfectly. It folds up into a tiny pouch and weighs only a few ounces. As a plus, it has a trolley sleeve which will make it easy to bring home if I fill it up. My husband and I can also use it for market days while we're on our trip.I first tried the smallest size Gomex packable duffel, which was a great bag but was just too large and heavy for what I was looking for. I would still recommend the bag if you're looking for a well-made sturdy duffel. Next I ordered the ChicoBag tote, which was almost perfect except the zipper didn't cover the whole top of the bag. I have to admit, I was a little sad that one didn't work out but this bag has almost the same cubic volume, plus it comes in a nice print.I finally found this bag and it was just right!

I used this on my recent cruise. Took it into Jamaica, Caymen and Mexico and had no problems with durability. Has a nice long strap and when I put all my souvenirs from all three places it held it all with no problems!

I was concerned with size and foldability, but this bag is awesome. I took it on an island trip and back and liked it so much that I keep it folded up in my car now to have on hand when my kids demand to bring along toys or extra things and then suddenly get tired of holding them (every kid ever). The straps are long enough to use like a purse on your shoulder. The smaller zippered pocket is great for tossing my keys and money into so I don't have to worry about them falling out anywhere.

this is a very cute tote, and I love that it has pockets on each side (one side has velcro, and one side zips for securitiy) but it is so large and bulky when folded up that you can't just poke it in your purse, which makes it a lot less useful. If I think I might need it, I just put my purse IN it and carry it at my main "bag", knowing that if I buy stuff I can take my purse out and use them separately. That works ok, but isn't the most useful tote scenario.

Tengo meses usandola para la playa, para ir al supermercado, para echar ropa.. La verdad es muy ligera, practica y funcional. Aguanta muy bien el peso de las compras del supermercado. Considero que es un muy buen producto.

This fold flat little bag lives in my suitcase & is well used at all my destinations. I love the zippered top & zippered exterior side pocket. Makes it a great bag for shopping.

I really love this bag but the zipper broke after only a few uses. Not impressed.
