First the pros: This is a very nice looking piece, plenty of storage space, doors operate smoothly, fairly easy to assemble. It came very carefully packaged so there was no damage to the pieces.Cons: Unfortunately there was a major problem with the construction of the two doors in the one I got. They were made about 3/16 to 1/4 inch too short so that even when the plastic tabs on them were extended to engage the upper tracks, the doors wouldn't stay in place and fell out of the unit. I had to go to the store and buy some wooden dowels to glue into the slots on bottom. Then I planed the dowels down to the right thickness and glued the plastic tracks on top of them. This brought the door up enough to engage into the upper tracks - but it was a good bit of trouble.So be aware that you may need to return it (very heavy package) or do some modifications on it if yours has this problem.Some other minor cons: the finish is pretty easily scuffed and marked up (be careful!) and there is a strong oil paint kind of smell to the finish that is very noticeable for several days.All in all, it has some good features, and it's hard to find anything exactly like it in this size with sliding doors, but I would have to say the price is too high for what this is, especially with the flawed door problem.Note also that the manufacturer's website description says the unit is made of New Zealand pine and wood product construction. All I see is particle board, no solid pine - unless they're referring to the two wooden knobs that screw onto the doors.
