CANWOOD Alpine II Loft Bed, Cherry

We received this last night. It comes in two boxes and the main box is pretty heavy so you might need help bringing it in. It took about two hours to put together, but that includes the time I was being distracted by the children and the fact that I put the bed frame in the wrong way and had to re-do it. I also couldn't find the proper hex bit on my drill so I had to hand tighten all the screws. The slats get screwed into the frame so you'll want a drill for that, and then you'll need a flat head screwdriver. Make sure you pay attention when you attach the bed frame to the supports because the piece for the ladder side has extra holes, oops! Also make sure that you clear each of the pre-drilled holes before assembly because there were some small wood pieces in some holes and if you didn't remove them you couldn't get the screws in. The bed itself is a little wobbly from end to end but not enough to worry me. If you anchor just one point to a wall that should reduce all wobble. The ladder seemed very sturdy. Max weight is 160 lbs so this is more a bed for a child. My 4 year old son loved it and could easily make it up and down the ladder, even in the dark.

My 7 year old wanted a loft to have a secret play area under the bed and to sleep in a high rise! I was worried she would be scared or hate it, but she loved it.Six months in and bed still standing and no accidents. Sure it moves a little, but we stress not to play on it & so far so good.I read hundreds of reviews and researched for days and hours before deciding on this. I thought about buying an overpriced brand, but glad I didn't because this one is great for us.For size reference, my daughter is age 7 and 61lbs & 4'2 and twin fits her fine and her little friend can fit too!

I went back and forth after reviewing these comments. This is our experience.I placed this order, it came to our doorstep in 3 days, both boxes, nicely packaged.Set the bed up, with hardly referring the the 'pictured' directions, (as well as written directions). Set up was COMPLETE within 2 hours. No per-driling needed. Everything was in order. All parts were packaged very nicely. We bought the cherry wood and the color looks rich. After set-up, my 8 yr old grandson climbed up the ladder and was VERY HAPPY because he has so much more room in his bedroom. He hurried and put his bean bag under the bed. He is making plans for when his buddy will spend the night, now that he has somewhere to have a friend spend the night. This is sturdy. This may very well go to college with him... ;-) THIS IS A GOOD BUY...THIS IS A GOOD BED!! Very happy customer!

Our daughter used to sleep on her mattress on the floor of our room even though she had her own bed and room to sleep in. She didn't like being alone and wanted to sleep close to us. We recently moved into a new home, and it was the same deal while we waited for this new bed to ship. We decided to go with a loft bed for her room because the room was a little smaller than she previously had but the ceilings were very high so we thought we'd give this a try so she'd have a nice space under her bed. She absolutely loves this bed. She hasn't slept in our room since we got this bed set up. We put up some fabric on the underside to give her a cool little space to play in with some rope lights to light the area. She absolutely loves her new bed!

This looked great online. The color was close to (perhaps a little whiter) an antique white. The problem was with the ladder, which did not have holes drilled for the hooks. The bed frame was damaged during shipping so it had to be returned. Only one shipping label was provided to UPS so they left the second box, with the ladder and rails. So, now we have this big box and will have to call Amazon to see if they want for us to ship. It is easier sometimes to shop in person.

We are in the middle of putting this together, and a foundation leg A2, piece B and piece F, the holes are not correct on them. On the leg, some of the holes are supposed to be all the way through and two of them are not. There are two holes that appear to go all the way through but do not match up by over 3/4". Extremely frustrating when trying to put the thing together. The pilot holes on B and F were like pins and had to be drilled out a little more to make it functional. This bed should not and is not hard to put together, as long as the holes are all the way through! We are not beginners for these kinds of things (we easily put together bunk beds last weekend), but you have to at least have a quality product to put together. 3 of the pieces are also bowed. I suspect they are bowed because our box arrive soaking wet on the bottom (no it was not out in the rain on our porch). Hopefully they will take better shape once they've had a chance to dry out in the finished product.

This is a well made loft for the price. I put it together in about two hours. It does wobble when my 10 year old daughter moves around on it. I understand there isn't a bottom bunk for complete sturdiness, but I think having square solid legs would make it more sturdy than the flat wood it came with. It's not made for playing obviously, like any other loft. We are very pleased with the product. Thank you ;)

Great for the price! Didn't take long to put together and it's pretty sturdy. She is 10. I love the way it saves floor space. I would definitely recommend it. I gave it 4 stars because of the slight wobble it has and it isn't easy to make the bed. Could have been a little sturdier but again, for the price it's a good value.
