Affordable compact subwoofer
An 8 inch powered subwoofer for less than ninety dollars New with 5-star ratings gets my attention, so I ordered one from Amazon.First thing I noticed picking the box with the sub up from my front steps was how light it is.This sub weighs just about 14 lbs and it's less than one cubic foot, so it's really small.I like the contemporary style of this subwoofer with rounded corners and the easily removable grill to show the woofer cone. The enclosure is wrapped in dark gray woodgrain vinyl with a seam that meets at the bottom around the bass port.Connection to an amp is easy with speaker level and line level inputs. Acoustic Audio includes RCA subwoofer cables with an adapter so you can use the sub with practically any amp/receiver.I'm using the sub for a bedroom stereo with an Insignia NS SH513 compact shelf system where it does a good job adding bass to music.I would use this sub in a small to medium sized room where space is limited. For Home Theater rumbling bass in a large room, this will not be powerful enough.edit: after playing the subwoofer for a few days with a variety of music and movies, I do like the bass sound from this small box, however if you turn the bass up too high the sub box will start to vibrate and the bass distorts.About power ratings; I believe Acoustic Audio's specs are inflated. To my ears this CS-PS8-B sub sounds like maybe a 50 watt amp with 100 watts 'dynamic' power( rather than the 150 - 300 watts listed). Here's a pic of the Acoustic Audio subwoofer with the Insignia NS SH513 shelf system:

Price vs enjoyment, this subwoofer has it covered!
Very happy with the Acoustic Audio CS-PS8-B subwoofer. My setup uses the Creative Sound Blaster X7 and Micca MB42X speakers. I felt the sound was a bit empty or lacking. It seemed at very low volume, say 1/4 or lower, the sound was enjoyable. Anything higher and it started sounding like a portable radio with a powerful amplifier, loud, but empty, no tightness, and flat sounding.I added this subwoofer and it's a whole new world of music and gaming! It won't shatter my windows, (which is great), but if I turn the crossover up enough, it does rattle the walls, and honestly that's too much boom for my tastes. Point is, it can if you want it to, give you a pretty good thumping bass. For the difference it made in my system, movies, music, and gaming, I couldn't be happier for the price vs enjoyment.Seems to be very well constructed, nice ash woodgrain finish, and yet it's also quite lightweight (which can be both positive and negative). The positive being, it's very easy to move around to where you want to set it up permanently, and the negative would be, I have a hardwood floor and had to put rubber feet on the bottom of each leg because it walked while playing music. In no way is either a deal breaker. If my system was setup for a dual (one at each end of the room) subwoofer, I wouldn't hesitate to buy another. For around $100 you get a nice bang (no pun intended) for your buck. It's difficult for me to put into words but, it definitely compliments the overall sound, and although I don't have the crossover up too high, when I go into another room, the thump and boom is very much present.I guess I could go on, but I am very happy with the subwoofer.

This is a great subwoofer. I have a home theater system with 5.1 surround sound and a projector. When I got the whole set up I fired it up and it was awesome. I watched a few movies over the course of a couple weeks but something was missing, I had good audio but I didn't have a sub yet. I got on amazon and was looking for a good sub but being a college student I had a low budget. This sub is reasonably priced and works great! As soon as I hooked it up I played some call of duty and the bass adds so much to the sound. It works so well in fact that I had to turn its volume way down because it over powered the rest of my speakers, but once I got it adjusted it just sounded great. The only reason I gave it 4 stars and not five is because the auto off feature doesn't seem to work right. It doesn't turn off when I shut off the rest of the system. Everything else works great though so I don't mind turning it on and off for every use, it's not a big deal. I'm sure there are better subs out there but for the price, this sub can't be beat. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a sub on a budget.

usually it's fine. If your watching a TV show or movie ...
Pros: Really goes down to very low frequencies for movies and music. I'd say that you'd need a well tuned 8" driver for this size enclosure to do so. I have the same exact sub woofer, but in the 6.5 " version I use for my PC sound system and it can't go down as low. Power output for both units I own I believe are exaggerated, but the speakers are probably high efficiency and wouldn't require gobs of power. I use the 8" version in my living room which I would consider medium in size in a house with a half open floor plan. I think placement would be key for the maximum effect, usually in a corner or some other area where it's sound can be reinforced and reflected outwards. I believe it is well built and the sound quality is unbeatable at this price range. I am impressed by its performance.Cons: The auto power on these units is hit and miss.It seems it needs a continuous signal level to stay on without shutting on and off. If you have sound media that lacks or has long pauses without low frequency contend, it will shut off, only to come back on with the next bass note. If you are playing music through it, usually it's fine. If your watching a TV show or movie with lots of talking and not much back-round music, it can be a pain unless you select the "non-auto power choice."

Visialmente elegante
Es pequeño pero lo hace ver elegante y suena increíble para el tamaño, tengo un espacio bastante amplio y suena muy bien y lo tengo a la mitad de potencia, altamente recomendable
