31/2" Galvanized Postcap

Good cap for 4x4's. You may have to tap in on. Put it works well.

These caps were quality with heft- if a little small. Had to take a plane to my 4x4 to make them fit. No problem.

Had to add a screw for security. But that's ok.

Well, they look very nice, so I’m sorry to say that they just don’t fit. I have nominal 3 1/2 inch by 3 1/2 inch wood deck posts. I measured to make sure. And these are just too small. I cannot even force them onto the too of the posts. It is too much money for return postage, so I’m stuck with it Thankfully I only ordered one to see how I’d like it. Oh well.

They seem like they are built really solid and are at a really nice price. Alas, unlike other reviewers, these don't fit my posts. Maybe my posts are slightly off (Home Depot, treated posts) but I can't fit these caps on my posts without removing about 1/8" from the top edges of my post. A bit of a pain.

These are nice post caps but remember they are galvanized steel. That means if you want to paint them, they most likely will need a primer first. Do yourself a favor and do a little homework on painting galvanized steel before you start painting them. If you take the time and do the job right they look pretty good.

Exactly the style we were looking for, did not fit without sanding the sides of the basic 4 x 4 in order to fit. But it fits snug, that’s for sure!

Bought some of these to cap my 4x4 posts. They fit great on all but one post. It's not the caps, but the posts. I merely sanded the post at the edges to make a perfect fit. They look great on my posts and make my posts match my galvanized patio cover!
