These definitely are screws for mounting things to PC cases.
I bought these because I needed to secure some new components to my case's PCI slots. This screw type is also used with most other areas of the case, including the HDD and Power Supply mounts. In fact, the only components which use different screws are my fans which use the larger screws they were shipped with, and my optical drives which use finer-threaded M3 screws. I will certainly buy another package if I ever need more.
