Absolutely Fabulous!
Wow! I can't believe it's taken me this long to get this cd but now that I have it, it quickly became one of my favorites. You know how you always have that pile of 5-10 cds that are always in the player or right there handy next to it? Well, it's there.I'm a 40 yr old woman who grew up in suburban Detroit listening to Prince and loving all of his early stuff, Dirty Mind being my favorite. After Under the Cherry Moon, I sort of swayed away from Prince's stuff because he wasn't putting out anything like those great dance songs I grew up to from the albums Dirty Mind, Controversy, 1999, Purple Rain, and Around the World in a Day, mostly because I was in college then and all I really cared about was dancing at the bars. A typical co-ed. But now, with age, and I still love the old dance tunes, don't get me wrong, but I just love to hear a good jam and good instrument playing, whether it be the guitar, piano, bass, or even the drums, and no matter if it's rock, jazz, or blues. Well, this album has it all. It's rock, it's funk, it's blues. It's all here. And, if you're like me, you won't feel the need to skip any songs because they're all great. So, if you're a Prince fan of old, and like blues and rock, you need to get this cd. Or, at least, find someone who has it and check it out. Listen to it in its entirety. It is one of his best, hands down. Fantastic album!

This was supposed to p*ss Warner Bros off?!?!
I can sort of see why the Come CD would maybe make them mad, but not this one. Well, maybe singing about ejaculating all over the floor and the last track, "Had U," would do it, but I don't know. If you ask me, I think Chaos and Disorder is another one of his masterpieces and Warner Bros should be thankful that Prince is so damn talented. This CD is almost as good as the Gold Experience!I guess why some people don't like Chaos and Disorder too well, is because it's more rock than funk. This is probably the hardest rocking CD he's ever done! Just because it's lacking the funk doesn't mean that this sucks. Every song on here is actually really good, and there isn't any filler at all. I'm really glad I didn't listen to the negative reviews on here, and went ahead and bought this. "Chaos and Disorder," "Dinner With Delores," "I Rock, Therefore I Am," and "Into The Light," are some of his best songs!

Dig U Better Dead, Dinner with Delores
This is not the throw away CD I envisioned based on the reviews I've read and Prince's refusal to promote it (we all know why). This is a rock CD more than a R&B type. I have favorites although this is not the CD that I would not skip a song (Had U) to get to my favorites; I Rock, Therefore I am, Dig U Better Dead, Dinner with Delores, Into the Light and I Will. The other songs fall behind the aforementioned.I paid a bit more than I wanted to for this one (but still lower than some prices I found), but it's the Purple Yoda, and I'm a 40 year fan.

Get an Undervalued Great Album by Prince and the NPG
It is a shame that Prince only looked at the release as a fulfillment of his contract to escape Warner Brothers, as they were is disagreement over ownership of some of the material written. Consequently, neither Prince and the NPG or Warner Brothers did ANY promotion of the album. I bought it new in 1996 and loved every song. Very creative material and good arrangements. And nowadays, VERY cheap. I recommend it highly.

Prince does it again!
I am always longing to determine what album in the many, I enjoyed the most from Prince. This one truly resonates as one of the best. It covers so many real emotions. It may have not make Billboard Top Ten lists, yet Dinner with Delores is one of my favourite Tracks. Also, the track titled I Will really spoke to me, and offered a beautiful sound, while addressing the ups and downs of life.

Somebody said in life there's always peaks and valleys
Much overlooked due to the purple one making it quite clear he only released this for Warner Brothers on the condition he never recorded for them ever again. For me, as a big Prince fan, the real thing about this album is that it gives us an insight into the way he puts tracks together, because a lot of it feels like first and second draft demos — albeit supremely well recorded — rather than being finished performances with all of the creases ironed out. Dinner With Delores is perhaps the most memorable track as far as song-craft goes, but I Dig U Better Dead is up there with The Sacrifice of Victor and Get Off in terms of groove. On the downside some of the lyrics are just lazy to the point of embarrassment; and I think he knew it too, as his performances are decidedly lacklustre. I know über-fans like to think he can do no wrong and everything he releases is perfect in every way, but you can't turn musical inspiration on like a tap, and I think at this phase in his career he was far more into his religious studies than he was his bass playing. If you love Prince and you've never heard this album you won't be disappointed, but Parade it ain't.

Another Brilliant Album By Prince
I wasn't to sure what this album was going to be like and it blew me away 10/10 album, every single song was amazing with some really great guitar work and brilliant vocals. I seriously recommend this album to anyone. Trust me it doesn't disappoint and is great for any Prince fan

A Throwaway Prince Album
This was issued to fill out Prince's contract obligation with WB, which is kind of apparent. According to the notes, the music was only ever intended for private use and was never actually meant to be released. Even so, while there are no classics, this is still a great album, with excellent songs, 'Dinner With Delores', 'The Same December', 'I Rock, Therefore I Am' being the best tracks.
