It works! How about that.
Other than the cost (which everyone dislikes paying), there is not much to complain about with this product. It performs its function with no issues. A nice stable platform from which to either view or charge my device. A good paperweight to boot.

Nice little dock
Nice little dock but the wire does pull up a bit when removing the phone so it usually has to be pushed back down before re-mounting it.

Elegant looking dock
A sample of an “Authentic Apple Lightning Cable Weight - Black (CW-BK) - Made Only For iPhone 5, 5C, 5S. Cable Cords Management and Upright Docking Weight” was sent to me for review.First impression of the box: a higher grade paper box, with a picture of the product on the front, and diagram on the back showing how to position an Apple branded Lightening cable into the dock. This is a solid block of aluminum, with the “Kero” brand etched onto the lower right hand corner on the front, though the branding is not as obvious on the black model. The design of the dock is simple, but employed precision machine drilling. The shape of the Apple Lightening cable has been drilled out of the center of the dock, with narrow grooves on the back and bottom to allow for the Lightening cable to be squeezed into place. It's cool to the touch, and has a small heft to it.Once the Lightening cable is in place, you have the option of either:A.) making the Lightening port connector’s neck sit flush with the dock’s surface, orB.) have the Lightening connector’s neck protrudes a little bit.The flush position is for when the iPhone is without a case, or a case with a completely open bottom is used. Leaving the connector poke up a little bit allows the use of a case that has a thicker bottom. You can wrap a little bit of transparent masking tape around the Lightening connector’s tapered end to increase its tightness inside the groove. This allows you to use a case that has a covered bottom and still be able to sit on a dock without the need to remove the case for docking.Having the bare iPhone’s speaker grill resting right on top of the surface of the dock did not reduce the loudness of the speaker too much. Of course if I push down on the bare iPhone while it’s docked the speaker’s output would get muffled. If a case is used (with the Lightening connector protruding out just a little higher), then the speaker sounds just a tad louder. I tested a voice call, and it is possible to conduct a call (because there is another microphone on the back of the iPhone).A better way to employ the use of this type of dock would be using Bluetooth speakers or headsets. This dock’s design makes the iPhone sit upright and does not have any backwards tilt compared to my other B* branded dock (has riser backrest). I noticed that with my iPhone5 on this Kero dock, it shows (in field test mode), a better reception of -82db (4 out of 5 dots); but gets reduced reception of -92db (3 out of 5 dots) when it sits on the other B* branded dock.Note: Cellular data and LTE is disabled for measuring 3G voice only antenna reception. Data is done through WiFi.The better antenna reception on the Kero dock is due to the iPhone5/5S having its cellular antenna on the bottom back area, thus having the iPhone sitting upright without any obstruction allowed it have an extra bar of reception (for my test location).Pros:• Nice looking, high quality feel.• Uses Apple branded Lightening cable, so the connector is Apple quality.• By minute adjustments to the protrusion of the Lightening connector, can be used with phone cases that have a thicker bottom.• Unobstructed reception when docked.• Allows for speaker-phone conversation and music playback through iPhone speaker when docked.Cons:• Only the Apple branded Lightening cable's connector can fit inside the cut out grooves of this dock.• Sitting 90 degrees straight up, no tilt, and no back support.• Wobbles a little more than a dock that has back support, so best way of operation for an iPhone on the Kero dock is to support the back with fingers while pressing screen with thumb (as one would when holding phone by itself).I would use this dock in a situation where I prefer a thicker protective case but don’t want to carry on a voice call with the phone lying flat on its back. This product was provided for review by SimplyGlobo, Inc
