OUTSTANDING!! -- Precise, Versatile, Solid Build, Comfortable, Affordable, Works Great with OS X!
The media could not be loaded. The Sentey Lumenata Pro is a fantastic mouse that is not only great for gamers, but also great for anyone looking for a precision tool. Whether you are into gaming, graphic design, data visualization, architecture, or just want a really good mouse, the Lumenata Pro is probably a great match.---------------------------MY NEEDS & WHY I PURCHASED THE LUMENATA PROI need a precision mouse for work-related activities when working documents at 4000%+ zoom where mice with high res' make life much easier. I also need a mouse that can execute macros stored in the mouse's own memory, including when being used in OS X. Finally, I need a mouse that is comfortable to use for long periods and reduces fatigue. Subsequently, I cannot speak in detail on gaming specifics, but some of my experiences will likely still apply to your needs.I have owned Logitech mice for over 15 years. In the past few years, I have become increasingly less pleased with their hardware quality and software support. OS X support could only be described as `abysmal' (I kid you not it took them 9 months to update their own software to work with 10.10, and during that time their mice did not function correctly or at all on Macs, yet they continued to sell their devices as "Mac-compatible".) So despite many great past experiences, it was time to move on.So when shopping for a precision mouse, I more or less checked out gaming forums. Gamers need mice that are well made and functional. A mouse that works well for gamers will work well for my general needs. Browsing forms, I came across Sentey. Surprisingly, their products in the $25-35 range were rated as well as many mice costing twice that or more. So I chose the Lumenata Pro.Having had time to use the mouse and customize it for my needs, I can now say that this was a really, really good purchase.---------------------------THE DESIGNThe Lumenata Pro is a mid-large sized mouse capable of providing a resolution ranging from 200 DP to 8200 DPI. This mouse has DPI presets as well as the ability to customize DPI settings for the X and Y axis individually in 200 DPI increments. While it is easiest to customize X and Y axis using Sentey's own software program, you can do this using buttons directly on the mouse itself.Technically this mouse has 13 functions. The buttons/functions are as follows: (all can be customized except the left click)-left/right click-scroll up/down; scroll side/side-scroll click-forward/back buttons on thumb side-programmable gaming buttons (2) front opposite side-mode toggle on top/center-FS button on top/center to change DPI-DPI preset toggle, bottom thumb sizeThis right-hand mouse has strong side contours and a soft rubberized surface to improve ergos and give you the best grip. The Teflon coated feet allow this mouse to glide smoothly (especially when paired with a good gaming mat.) The braided USB cable is more durable than a standard rubber coated cord. Size-wise, I have average sized hands and this mouse is perfect for me.The center LED has a toggle switch to change the color of the light. Each color represents an individual profile that the user can customize to their needs. If you play different games or programs and need different mouse settings for this, you can set up different profiles and toggle to the different settings as needed. Once programmed, you do NOT need to be connected to the internet or Sentey's program to change these settings as they are stored on the mouse itself and can be toggled using the `M' button.---------------------------WHAT I LIKEBeyond everything else, this mouse is precise. On both OS X and Windows 8.1, it works flawlessly. When working documents that are a few thousand zoom, the ability to dial back the settings for precision is great. The ability to make my X axis faster than my Y is great because it makes me more precise. The rubber coating gives great traction even if your hand starts to sweat from prolonged usage, and the ergos reduce fatigue. The heavy duty braided USB cord is still flexible enough to avoid being obtrusive, and the USB connection is USB 2, an advantage since USB 3 can interfere with 2.4 GHz signals in some instances.I also like how this mouse did not come with any accessories that I will never use but pay more because they are there. Cases are nice, but I would prefer to buy a mouse without these extras and save a few bucks. So I really like how Sentey offers one version of the Lumenata without anything other than the mouse/paperwork/CD.I have called Sentey a few times to ask specific questions. I have actually spoken not to general customer service reps, but the product designers who engineer the hardware. I am guessing they are a smaller company as this is a rarity these days, but it is really nice because I get direct, true, and up-to-date info. (For example, they told me how Sentey is now working on a program that allows their mice to be controlled via a smartphone or tablet.) This to me is really nice because I am using this mouse frequently with OS X and am experimenting with ways to make this mouse work best with OS X, and now I can literally pick up the phone, chat with an engineer, and discuss my ideas...and because of this I have gotten this mouse to have 100% functionality with OS X Yosemite!---------------------------WHAT I DO NOT LIKEI have virtually no dislikes here. With that said, it should be noted that due to the use of the soft rubber finish, the mouse DOES easily show fingerprint and oil markings. I do not think there is anyway to change this when using this kind of coating, and it does not bother me. However, if you have an obsession with fingerprints, this may influence your purchase.---------------------------SOFTWAREAs you probably know, most performance mice these days require software to operate to their fullest potential. As a general rule, most makers have their own in-house programs. You may also have the option of using third party software with some mice. On others, you will not have this option and you must use the manufacturer's own software if you want to adjust DPI settings.Software support is of importance here because it makes or breaks a company and it speaks to how much you can RELY on them to continue to provide you with support and service needed so that you can continue to use your product over time (for example, updating software so it works reliability on updated operating systems.) Bad software support can render even the finest of hardware 100% worthless. So even beyond the features aspect, reliability is of paramount concern, as is consistency.Sentey's software is relatively basic. However, it's more reliable than Razer's Synapse or Logitech LCC/SetPoint, it is not dependent on cloud service, it does not require you to have an account, and the settings it does offer covers a lot of the bases. The fact that you can adjust the major hardware settings WITHOUT needing this software, and the fact that the mouse has its own memory to REMEMBER your settings are of huge benefit. Finally, Sentey's software has the ability to make your own macros directly through their interface, or upload script. Unlike other programs I have used, this is a relatively easy process and the execution is quite reliable. So while Sentey does not even advertise their products as being Mac-compatible, it turns out their mice work better on OS X than many mice advertised as being made for OS X. But how do you get setup for using this mouse with OS X?---------------------------USING THIS MOUSE WITH OS X...Yes, it WILL work, it will work very well, and you can even set up the advanced functions!!!Sentey's own software DOES NOT install directly on OS X. BUT, this mouse is 100% OS X capable. All you have to do is set it up a little differently. The attached video explains this in further detail, but here is a brief summary...The first option is using third party mouse control software for OS X, such as SteerMouse. This software is made for OS X and allows you to customize most of the buttons to more or less perform any input/task you want to program it to. Some of these programs work better than others and while you will be able to map most of the buttons, the two macro buttons (number 6 and 7) will probably not map successfully (and hence you will not be able to use those two buttons.) Most are paid applications but don't cost all that much. The second option is more or less using the Sentey software on a Windows machine to configure the mouse to your liking, and then being able to use it on a Mac because the mouse has its own internal memory and stores your preferences in the mouse itself (rather than storing it in software.) On the Windows machine, through the Sentey software you would set/customize your 5 color-coded profiles, customize your DPI settings to your liking, and assign tasks/macros to each of the buttons using commands that OS X will recognize. Do NOTE that you will need to use commands that will work in OS X...just selecting the pre-made actions (such as copy or paste) from the action list will NOT work because the command is in Windows format that OS X will not recognize. You will need to manually enter in the commands and the easiest way to do this is through the use of macros. So when making macros on your Windows machine (directly through the Sentey software), in order for these commands to work on OS X you MUST replace the CONTROL key with the `Windows' key. So if `paste' is CONTROL + V in Windows, the macro command to `paste' in OS X will be `Windows' + V. OS X will then read this as COMMAND + V, which is the native OS X command for `paste'. This method takes a little while and some trial and error, but once you get it configured it works very reliably and requires no further action from you (unless of course you want to change the macro settings, in which case you will need to use the Windows computer again.)---------------------------CONCLUSIONI am blown away by how much quality I got for just 30 bucks! I have quite a few mice priced close to the $100 mark...and yet I like this 30 dollar Sentey Lumenata more...actually, a lot more. The ergos are outstanding, the resolution is insanely high, the build quality is solid, interacting with the company is a pleasure, you can customize many settings WITHOUT having to use proprietary software, and this Sentey works better on OS X than the Logitech or Razer products that I own (which is quite ironic given Logitech and Razer both advertise OS X compatibility, where as Sentey does not.)So with such a great product being available for such a reasonable price, I highly recommend the Lumenata Pro. This is a great mouse for both Windows and Mac users alike.

Good Quality
Reason I gave 4 stars is because this mouse is touted as being really ergonomic & comfortable to use but I don't have the same opinion after using it for a short time for gaming. I bought it to replace my 6 yr old Logitech G9x, which I really like, technically, but that one leaves a little to be desired on the ergonomic front. The Sentey mouse was intended to correct that discrepancy but it has not. It is technically a very good mouse, but in spite of the seemingly larger footprint of this device, the recessed grip grooves force you to 'squeeze' the mouse instead of 'gripping' it. The on-the-fly Dpi switch is a nice feature but the G9x has that too. I was due for a new mouse anyway because of my 'aging' G9x so this mouse has filled that bill very well. I suppose it will take some getting used to now since I don't intend on returning it. The price point is good enough to make me keep it even if it's not my ideal replacement. Another thing I noticed are the slider pads on the bottom. They don't look like they're attached very well & will come loose over a short period of time with moderate to heavy use as is the case in gaming. I got use to the free wheel switch on the scroll wheel of the Logitech which the Sentey does not have but guess you can't have everything at this price. Overall it's a decent mouse & I would recommend it for those of you looking for one that gives you more than your money's worth.

Disappointed. Good Potential Value for Most.
Sentey Lumenata Pro ReviewWhen my G400s scroll wheel broke, I needed another mouse to go with my laptop, and I wanted to branch out away from Logitech and experience a little of what the market had to offer. I also didn't want to spend the money on another G400s. In other words, I wanted to have my cake and eat it too. I almost succeeded. To my delight, when I went searching, the Lumenata Pro had a 4.6 star rating and met all my requirements below:1. Soft touch texture - check2. Thumb groove/rest - check3. Gaming grade sensor - check4. 6+ buttons - check5. Under $30 - $23 you say? Check!6. Professional Look - Very nice7. U.S. company - Sentey is based in Miami FLI ordered the mouse without much additional research. I was hopeful that it would give my G303 a run for its money as my daily driver. When the mouse arrived it was clear there was a lot to like.- Looks were ""as advertised," maybe a little better.- Packaging is excellent and included good documentation.- The soft touch texture on the sides give the mouse a luxurious, velvet feel.- Button number and placement are satisfactory.- Software was easy to install and understand.- I was afraid the mouse would be too heavy for FPS, and while it is by no means a "super lightweight," I found its weight comparable to the G400s without the mouse feeling cheap or hollow.- Build quality in general is good with satisfying clicks, a good rubberized scroll wheel and the aforementioned rubber surfaces.- I also have to mention that the mouse feet on this thing are well placed and massive, much more substantial and thicker than a what I'm used to seeing. They also appear thicker than what I'm used to which should logically translate into longer life for the mouse feet. The mouse feels smooth and very stable under the hand. Now the middling to bad points.- The mouse cord is braided, but quite thick. Only a minor annoyance for me, but some people will definitely not appreciate hassle of something with the stiffness of a twist-tie.- The thumb groove is the deepest of any mouse I've tried. I am of fan of thumb grooves, but this one is too deep for my liking, almost uncomfortably so. The thumb groove was not a dealbreaker by itself. What is bothersome about the groove is that it makes you change your grip on the fly in order to get to the right side thumb buttons above it, not ideal for gaming.- Between the thumb groove and the pinky rest on the right side of the mouse, your hand will probably manage to be comfortable in both a claw or palm grip, but the problem is that I had to keep my hand in exactly that one position to be comfortable for either grip, and yes, I spent a significant amount of time experimenting. After a few hours of use, I started feeling a little bit of cramping, but you'd likely have to be on the computer for longer than is healthy in the first place.-The soft touch surfaces are a huge overall plus for me, but there are a couple drawbacks to be aware of. #1 Heat dissipation. I found my hand building up heat and sweating a whole lot - something my hand never does with regular plastic mice. Even sweaty however, the grip worked wonderfully. #2 Fingerprints. I don't mind a few fingerprints, but for those people who can't stand them, this mouse may annoy a little since it picks up fingerprint marks fairly easily.-There is no basic color customization using the mouse software. The color displayed it tied to the DPI profile you set. In theory you can edit a profile to match a certain color with the DPI of your choice, but this seems to an unnecessary "long way around."- While all the mouse buttons work fine, the one that gets used most, the left click, had very noticeable play in it. It sits loosely over the switch. You can press it down slightly, hear the plastic come into contact with the switch, then the actual actuation of the button. The right mouse click by comparison behaves as it should, with crisp, direct response. This looseness in the left click is an annoyance and made clicks feel slower. This might be a bigger issue and a dealbreaker. In a game of CS:GO, I could swear that while spamming pistol shots I was firing slower or missing clicks altogether. WHen I compared left click speed to my G303, I found clicks weren't missing, they were just slower to the tune of about 10%. It takes longer to go down and up and is much less responsive than I'd like.-Now the biggest gripe: Tracking. I wanted a mouse that would look good in an office setting that would also be a capable gaming tool. I found myself missing and doing badly in general in-game due to a feeling of "floating." While the mouse itself felt comfortable and stable in my hand, the feedback on the screen felt "floaty" and not at all direct or precise. As a long-time CS:GO player, I immediately began to suspect my oversight. Mouse acceleration. Sure enough the Avago 9800 laser sensor is known to have inherent acceleration. According to some testing (not performed by me) the Avago 9800 can be as much as 5-9 degrees off after a 180 degree turn...yech.After going back to my G303, my impressions of it were that it felt, hard and austere, but also extremely precise and controllable. Because I do a fair bit of FPS, the Lumenata Pro will fulfill its intended purpose as the laptop mouse and G303 will remain (king of the mice!)with my desktop. In conclusion. This mouse has a satisfactory price point and design. While the ergonomic options are good, they are limited on this mouse. As a gaming peripheral, it is not satisfactory for competitive FPS gaming, but will probably be satisfactory for most games and most people. Overall, the mouse deserves 3 stars for me personally due to the left mouse feel, latency and tracking issues. That said, because of the overall value here for the majority of people, I can't bring myself to give it anything less than 4 stars.Update:After reviewing the manual again I was able to calibrate the mouse to the mousepad surface. The improvement was noticeable, but accuracy was still nowhere near the G303. After a couple more hours of use, the left mouse click issue became more noticeable and I've elected to return it. Based on the questionable ergonomics and the known sensor issues, I don't see myself reordering this model, which is quite a disappointment given that it met most of my criteria. Still, high potential value for most customers, especially if no defects.
