Wilson Bickford - Video Art Lessons"Oil Painting: Lakeside Birch" DVD

My wife and I took oil painting classes from Wilson Bickford for about three years quite some time ago. Inthose days Wilson was a "William Alexander Certified Instructor. "Wilson is a man of infinite ability, great artistic skill and integrity and considerable patience.The same Wilson is captured in his instructional DVDs. There is no "phoniness" or "pretension" in his approach. Using a minimum of art supplies he gently guides the viewer into the creation of a most pleasent and satisfying work of art. I purchased both the "Shallow Falls" and "Lakeside Birches" DVDs and am eagerly awaiting the one which I will receive for supporting his program on our local PBS station. They are all excellent. Even though I have a house with walls full of Wilson inspired paintings, I feel inspired to add even more creations to my collection.

I highly recommend this artists videos for learning how to paint......so far i have ordered three, I am teaching myself, and they are very clear and slow and he explains his steps very well.

I may be prejudiced, Bob Ross is my hero. Mr. Bickford is a good painter and did pass on some worthwhile tips.

This one turned out to be my favorite so far. It was easier than I thought. I would recommend it to anyone that wanted to learn to paint.
