Anjelica Huston "It was such a revelation that instantly I was freed from my addiction." Sir Anthony Hopkins "His skill is in removing the psychological dependence." The Sunday Times Review: Excellent book it really helped. Easy to read and in one or two sittings only. - This book is great. They get to the heart of the sugar addiction. I don't agree with all of it, but it basically sums up what we already know intuitively. Sugar is not good for us. It's not a treat. It's toxic. Simple as that. I still eat pasta and potatoes, but this book got me off of almost everything else. When I see chocolate or candy now, it does not appeal to me at all. That's the best part. Definitely read it if you want to quit sugar. Review: This is the best book on how to quit sugar I've read - First of all, it only takes about 1 1/2 hours to read this. He uses some illustrations that I wish were done by a better hand but this is minor. His ideas are spot on and he calls you on your excuses to eat processed sugar. He advises a plant-based diet with small amounts of meat. The diet plan allows whole fruits. I've been on it only a few days and already my GI symptoms of bloating, abdominal pain and diarrhea are history. Also, my mind is clear and I have energy. Hoping to lose a few pounds but just the relief from abdominal pain and bloating are worth quitting sugar. I have never had one doctor ask me what I have been eating but clearly to me, it was the constant use of sweets on a daily basis that has been wreaking havoc on my body. Thanks a million for writing this book.

Quick Read
I read this illustrated book in fifteen or twenty minutes. I will try the concepts in my life though. Just wish there was more to read.

Good to quit sugar but itโs a vegan brainwashing
Let me tell you this book literally contradicts itself. It says eat highly nutritional foods that way you feel great and full, okay red meat has been proven to be the most nutrient dense food on the planet. But this book says nahhh make it a side dish?? Like whattt. Iโll take the sugar advice of this book but not the other bullcrap about not eating meat. So yeah it says eat more vegetables because chimpanzees eat it too okay but vegetables without any sauce or dressing donโt taste goodโฆ and it says if the food donโt taste good then itโs your body telling you you shouldnโt eat it! So why are you saying eat vegetables!!!!?!???? Aside from that itโs good advice on quitting sugar but I just hate the fact that itโs so against the most nutrient dense food in the worldโฆ RED MEAT!

Definitely worth it:)
The first-grade reader can understand itโs a very simple book. we all know it but weโre not doing it. Itโs very helpful to read over and over and over again!!

A no BS method that works!
As a physician whoโs read every just about every health and fitness book there is, this was a breath of fresh air. I firmly believe that he gets to the core of the issue in a way none of the other long winded, cultish diet books do. If you read this book and understand the perils of eating bad sugar and why you simply do not need it to survive or be happy, youโll succeed. Read the book! It takes an hour! All the best! Dr Frank

Weak
Iโve enjoyed Allen Carrโ other books but this one is bad. Consider it dumbed down, nutritional advice from someone who has no training. Rehash of the principles of his other addiction books. Hard to read with all the illustrations which are annoying and distracting. There is no real principle here other than โrealize (or convince yourself) that sugar doesnโt taste good and is bad for youโ.

No more sugar cravings
By the time I finished this book, I no longer even wanted a piece of candy or dessert or any packaged sweets. I won't say I never eat a sweet, but I don't crave it. I can refuse dessert easily. I'm amazed at myself. This book is amazing. I read it years ago and haven't gone back to eating sweets since that time. Amazing formula, that Allen Carr had.

Does the job
It's a bit basic and it's not realistic to go from our western diet (full of processed foods) to only eating whole foods and nothing else. However, the principles make perfect sense, you can read it in one evening so it gives you a nice little reminder/boost when you fall off the wagon a bit. It helped me quit sugar for a month (until I fell off the wagon) with some really poignant tips. I used Allan Carrs book to quit smoking (the crazy easy way) 7 years ago so I'm a big supporter of him anyway and this book didn't disappoint, although it's not as good as his smoking book.

Simple to read - too simple?
This seems to be a children's book. I didn't realise this when I bought it. Some of Allen Carr's 'Easy Way' books are very good - especially the one's HE actually wrote.(he's been dead for some time now). I will try to finish it - in case it works. It's a quick read and even if it doesn't work it may give some useful ideas that help folk avoid type 2 diabetes!

A must read for chocolate lovers
This books changes how we think about sugar and helps us to change habits of a lifetime. Easy to ready and understand. Repetitive in places but that's to make sure information is slowly sinking in. Sugar is addictive and getting to grips that your a sugar addict helps see why we enjoy chocolate, cakes, bread and most things with sugar. I stop and think now and am eating more whole foods. This process can be applied to any additions.
