SOMAColor Protect Conditioner 16 oz

These products were recommended to me by the salon who did my hair for my wedding this summer. I had never heard of hair products that had the pH adjusted downward to make hair healthier. In my world, the chemistry of shampoos and all soaps was basic, or high pH, just by nature and I never dreamt that such an adjustment would affect anything.I first tried the curl product, which is the best curl product I have ever used. Converted, I decided to try the shampoo and conditioner. First, they really do protect the color and I dye my hair a rich, medium red/auburn, the color most vulnerable to fading over time. I have noticed a difference. I've also noticed a difference in the health of my hair, especially the ends. I've been able to grow my hair a bit longer than usual and I was always subject to scraggly ends.I would recommend that this shampoo and conditioner be rotated with other products and used as a weekly clarifier rather than as a constant, regular shampoo and conditioner. I get the best benefit using this in rotation once every week to ten days or so. The price is high, but a little of the shampoo and definitely a small amount of the very thick conditioner goes a very long way. I expect these bottles to last me more than a year used as a clarifying treatment. At any rate, I am a convert to lower pH products - they really do affect the condition of my hair and are color protecting.

You will love this conditioner and how it makes your hair feel, even my husband uses it. So you don't have to have color on your hair, just hair.

I've been using Soma Colour Protect Conditioner for a few weeks now. I bought it after completely falling in love with Soma Colour Protect Shampoo. I wanted a light conditioner, which will protect my color (I only use non-ammonia, organic hair coloring products) but will also give my hair some more moisture, without weighing it down. So far it does seem to work w/r to protecting the color, but it may just not be the best choice for my hair. I have fine, oily hair and even though I use a small amount of the product, and don't leave it on the hair (rinse it immediately), it does seem to weigh my hair down. On some days it works better, on others my hair is completely flat an hour after styling. The consistency is also really thick, which makes the application a little bit more difficult.I'm sure it's going to be perfect for normal hair, and I do like the list of ingredients a lot, and as I mentioned I love the shampoo and I wish it worked better for my hair. I'll definitely be buying more Soma products, but may have to give up on this one.

I gave this product five stars for its performance as well as its scent. I would suggest this to anyone who needs a safe conditioner without buildup..

I like the Soma brand as a general rule, but I'm sorry, spending $26 on a bottle of hair conditioner that doesn't even come CLOSE to actually conditioning hair is a bunch of bunk.It smells AMAZING. But that's the only thing it has going for it, and the only reason I'm giving it two stars. If you're actually expecting it to detangle and soften your hair, though, you're in for a disappointment. I shouldn't have to take time adding leave-in conditioner after showering just so I can get a comb through the snarls in my hair.Also, I'm not convinced that my color fades out any slower when using this stuff than it would using any other conditioner that has all those color-leeching chemicals. At least THOSE conditioners actually condition.Do yourselves a favor, folks. Save your money on this overpriced crap and just use Treseme or some other brand that will actually do what it promises.

This is a wonderful creme rinse for silver white hair - leaves hair soft and shiny - highly recommend this product
