An amazing read if you are the caddy for your junior golfer
What an amazing read! This book has absolutely changed how I caddy for (and coach and parent) my 7 year old son. This is so, so much more than a pure golf instruction book, and it is much more like a road map that teaches parents how to generally work with their junior golfer and addresses the parent side, the caddy side, the coaching side, and the teammate side. The book helps with managing the highs and lows of a junior golfer's career and the same highs and lows during tournaments. The book is a great resource for seasoned parents and beginners alike, and helps with ideas on how to inject fun into the entire process. If you caddy for your young golfer, this one is simply a must buy.

This book is a must read for a parent caddy.
After escalating frustrations and what has become an almost unplayable partnership, this book was recommended to me by a local tour Director. The book provides many of those “a-ha“ moments where you realize what is going on. The tour director told me that the information in this book had changed his relationship with his son, whom he caddied. His son is now one of the top ranked juniors in the nation. The author, a former University of Florida player has a son who excels at competitive golf as well. We all want the best for our kids and we do what we think is right; however, we often caddy with our parent hat on instead of the Caddy hat. Reading this book is completely eye-opening and explains what I and most every other parent have gone through. Being a caddy for your own child is incredibly difficult so we need all the help we can get, and this book provides a great deal of help. Do yourself a favor, don’t pass up this opportunity to learn how to better caddy for your child.

Wonderful Book
This book puts it all into perspective. Our son is 6 years old and just started competing in US Kids Golf tournaments. Our son has been playing golf since he could hold a club in his hands and the two of them have always had a blast practicing out at the golf course. But, being our son's caddy during a tournament is a completely different situation. There are emotions and expectations from both that are completely different from any other sport when they are out on the course. Daddy Caddy provides wonderful information about how to handle all aspects of the game with your child. Our son went from getting 3rd and 4th in the tournaments to winning. I think it has a ton to do with how this books has given my husband tools and reinforcement for coaching our child in the game of golf. It's an easy read and the information provided makes logical sense.

Must read for junior golf parents!
We loved this book! Any mom or dad or grandparent with a junior golfer age 4 to 16 should read this book!Don't forget to buy his Off the Bag book for your child. My son loved it so much that he did a book report on it at school. My son and I have played in tournaments with the author and his son and they are truly an excellent example of positive parent-caddie-player relationships that you might not see when watching shows like The Short Game!

The perfect book for a parent with junior golfers
This book contains information that is valuable to any parent with a young golfer. It provides excellent insight if you plan on being involved in their game, particularly if they are competing in junior golf tournaments. Moreover, as far as I can tell, this is the only book that provides advice on how to caddy for your child. It is harder than you think, and this book provides a cookbook for success that will make the game more enjoyable for both you and your child.

If you have ever exploded at your child on a failure, it is for you.
It is a Fantastic book for Parents who are actively involved with their kids who are performing at a competitive level in any sport. We have to believe our child is feeling bad after a poor round and that is why she is crying or angry and therefore support the child with a lot of empathy, If we don't believe then stop supporting. Our role as a parent is only that of a Support in everything that the child does to excel, we have to learn to take our emotions elsewhere. Just nothing gives us the right to loose our patience at our child, remember our child has nowhere else to take her emotions.

A hole in one!
Rick Heard has done a great job on this book. I wasn't a golfer or fan until my 7-year-old son became interested. Prior to him joining his first tournament I bought this book as I had major anxiety about being his caddy. This book put my mind at ease for the most part. Worth the 5 stars and worthy every penny!
