I would like to say that these tapes are definitely worth the money--so much tape for what, less than a few dollars? It's great. But then, upon opening the package, I found that several tapes had slid off of their plastic rings. They were also a little challenging to pull out of the packaging since they kept sticking! I also only received 9 rolls instead of the 10 I paid for. When I was able to get one out--these rings are smaller than in the picture--the tape itself is really quite beautiful and cute~ I recommend tweezers (using your bare fingers has slightly less control) and a little piece of paper to mark your place to help make your experience with this tape a lot easier.I must say, this striping tape was quite a hassle, you need to make sure that the whole piece of tape is on the nail and to cut it precisely--even the smallest of edges that stick off of the nail will catch and can easily be pulled off. I also experienced this tape fraying? When I began to pull it away from the roll, it didn't come off as one piece and instead grew smaller and thinner whilst leaving a tiny strip of tape left on the roll. I have heard about the colors changing when top coat was applied, however I have only used a silver striping tape so far (it didn't change color at all~).So, all in all, this tape worked pretty well for me. But I wouldn't recommend using it when you don't have much time or get frustrated easily--this takes a bit of practice! But the finished product is definitely something worth the patience! At first I was unsure about ordering this product because of the expected shipping time and the lack of reviews about whether the tape would work with gel nail systems (such as Gelish and Shellac). The package arrived much earlier than expected, and the tape was in perfect condition. I found that the tape was easy to apply the first time, although some rolls were difficult to get started (tweezers helped), and it looked amazing! The metallic silver really enhanced my plain manicure, and it was relatively easy to apply. Unfortunately, I encountered two major problems with my first application: 1.) I left the tape just a little bit too long on some of my nails. Since it was so close to the edge of my nails, it didn't take long for it to start peeling up. 2.) The gel top coat absolutely would not adhere to the foil, even after curing it in my UV lamp. I thought that I wouldn't be able to use it with my gel polish, but I discovered a solution that seems to work well. I put a layer of foundation gel over the tape, followed by a layer of top coat. That worked perfectly. It created a seamless finish with no bumps or ridges, so my nails were completely smooth. Below are the steps that I used to add the striping tape to my Gelish manicure:1.) Apply a layer of foundation gel, then cure under the UV lamp (as per the instructions).2.) Apply a layer of color, then cure.3.) Repeat step 2, if necessary.4.) Apply a layer of top coat, then cure and remove the tacky residue with alcohol.5.) Cut the striping tape into small sections and place them on nails, as desired. (I used tweezers to manipulate the tape so that I didn't ruin the adhesive.)6.) Trim the tape so that it does not reach the edge of your nails (otherwise it will peel).7.) Repeat steps 1 and 4.If you Google "nail striping tape designs," there are lots of fabulous ideas and images.

My order took about 2- 2.5 weeks to arrive. That said, it's a great price and a nice product. Each roll of striping comes in a clear plastic bag and there is an assortment of colors. They stick well when applied and cut easily. Mine have lasted just fine - though I suspect that is more dependent on what top coat you use than this actual product.I put on my polish, let it dry, then apply the striping. I cut them a bit longer than I need, apply them, then trim them right before I press them down. After that, I top with a clear coat and let that dry.Mine came with 2 reds, 2 golds, green, purple, blue, and pink, then there's a white and a silver.

The best way to keep the colored tape itself on your nails is by cutting the tape strips exactly to fit and making sure that the tape is completely pressed down onto the nail, paying special attention to the edges. Once your tape is applied and pressed down completely, apply a good amount of quality top coat - I recommend  Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Nail Coat, 0.5 Ounce .If there are any air bubbles at all, or if the edges are not pressed down properly - the tape will lift, whether or not a top coat is applied.While the tape is fun to use and looks pretty when left on top of the nails, the number one use that I have found for the tape is for making straight lines and stripes for your nail art designs. Simply cut the strips and place on the nail to create color blocking, zig zag designs, or whatever you can dream up. Once you have painted your desired polish on the nail, carefully use tweasers to remove the striping tape and you will have clean and even lines for your design.Well worth the money given the many different ways that the tape can be used, and the free shipping is a definite bonus!
