Fun for all
Great fun with family and friends. Children and adults will enjoy playing for hours. This helped my daughter with spelling.

Great fun alone or with a friend.
I purchased this for my 8 year old son for Christmas after he asked Santa for it. I have to say, this is a great game! It is perfect for him being an only child because it can be played alone. This game kept him busy while visiting family while the adults talked. It is also very portable (just a small box) and can be taken in the car (as long as you have a sturdy surface to play on, such as a lap desk)....he used it while on the trip to visit family. It is very easy to use right out of the box, which we love for an impatient young boy. The game will tell you your score and how many words were possible with the letters given. This makes the game very addicting as you try to get ALL the words, which I must say is challenging. I am a teacher and pride myself in my spelling abilities, but even I cannot get them all every time. The challenge is nice as it is not too easy, which can create boredom. The difficulty level is perfect for children (8-10 and up) and adults. Sometimes we all work together trying to think of words. I rated it high on educational value because it is a spelling game. The instructions encourage you to just place any tiles together because it may create a word that you are not familiar with - this teaches new words (my son stated "I didn't even know that was a word!" and you can encourage looking up the meaning for further learning). Overall, this is a great game for both kids and adults.

keeps score poorly
I purchased 3 of these games for Christmas...two for separate grandchildren to share, ages 8 to 11. The other one for my husband and myself to play with the grand kids when they come to visit. I thought it would be a good "family" game. I'm very disappointed. Being an avid scrabble player for many years, I thought that this would be a great way to engage the kids. I've played the games multiple times "alone" and would say that this is much too challenging for young kids. Putting together words as fast as I can, I am often stumped as to how one can often get only 50% of the words available within the time constraints. Did I mention that I have a Ph.D.? This would be much too frustrating for young kids! I've also found that my set does not always score a correct word. That is frustrating for me (i.e., "creed" ?, not recognized??). On a positive note, it is a very compact game that could easily be put in a suitcase for travel. Overall, I'm not enthused and disheartened.

Fun and Challenging Flash Cubes
This is a fun and challenging game that can be played alone, with friends, and/or in teams. It is simple to learn, easy to play for almost all ages and is fast to play. I first saw this game played in an elementary ESL classroom where students used the cubes in make words in English. I first played at a party where all, including myself, are retired school teachers and administrators. WE LOVED IT! I like the fact that the cubes "keep score" and the little carrying box is awesome and makes for ease of carry and play any where.

Disappointed - waiting for an improved version
Wow, how disappointing! I was really looking forward to this game, but was disappointed from the start. The technology falls short:1. The black and grey letter images are not very easy to read. How about a little color and more definition? The displays remind me of the first attempts at electronic devices.2. You can only read the letters if you are looking directly down on them from above. This makes it nearly impossible to watch others as they play.3. Right answers and repeat answers are noted with an audible beep. Correct answers darken, but sometimes you can't tell the difference between correct combinations and repeated combinations. There should be more distinct responses for the two results. If color were added, repeat answers could turn red, correct answers could flash green.4. Larger tiles would be helpful for older eyes.5. As with other reviews, some valid combinations never scored, the game needed to be reset frequently, and words that don't exist scored.6. I wish there were more multiple player options.I guess this sounds more like an enhancement request for Scrabble, than a review for potential buyers! I hope they read this because I will definitely snap up a new, improved version!
