Doesn't seem to work
I bought this with high hope that it would help with my fireplace smoking. As near as I can tell there is no difference, it still smokes that same as it did before.

Works Great build quality not perfect
It did the trick but the build quality could have been better for the money. Works fine and installed fine I just felt like it was a bit flimsy. I would recommend this to a friend.

I was having an issue with back drafts on high wind days. I did quite a bit of research and came up with this cap. It is a little pricey but it is very well built and heavy. I have not had a single back draft issue since installing and we have had high wind days several days and one day was up to 60mph wind gust. So far this cap is working very well!

Fixed my issues
I live beside lake Ontario and the wind is constant. This chimney cap stopped the back puffs of smoke into the house and allows me to use the fireplace during very windy periods. I was highly doubtful it would work but I haven't had any wind related issues since the install.
