This cleaned out our chimney without needing a chimney sweep service. It does give off an intense chemical smell that isn't the greatest, so I recommend only using if you have a fireplace that has a sealing door. For the price and how quickly it worked, I will definitely buy again despite the smell.

I have used these as the directions recommend in my old Ashley fireplace insertand have not had any problem with my Chimney. However, I am burning wood that has dried for at least 6 to 8 months.

I usually run a hot fire, so build-up is minimal, but these did not impress me, they are definitely not a replacement for having your chimney cleaned properly with good brushing every year. That said I do use a creosote buster every week or so, but this one just isn't for me. YMMV
