I have been reading this series since its inception. I look forward when a new Agatha Frost Peridale Cafe cozy is announced. The books are intriguing drawing the reader in from start to finish. I enjoy the way the author ties in a specific food and seems to write the book around it. One never forgets the engaging image on the cover as it is prevalent consistently throughout the book. The stories are clean mysteries basically and I truly enjoy the consistency that allows the reader to read this series in any order as each book is a stand-alone. In order to get the best feel for the series and its characters though, I would suggest reading the series in order. I'm never disappointed by the manner in which the author weaves her storylines. I was especially fond of this cover and the story around it as I'm a lover of red velvet cake! The best way to define the writing in this book is strategic, with colorfully created characters and unique plots. I highly recommend Agatha Frost and this Red Velvet and Revenge book in her Peridale Cafe Cozy Mystery series!

I love this series! I have so many other books to read also and it has been a while since I read one of this author's books and let me tell you that I didn't even have to reread the few pages of the book prior to this one because it just felt like I was reading them one right after the other! Her writing is so smooth flowing and you just fly through her books! Love it! I look forward to every new one that comes out! I cannot wait to start reading the next one because I want to see if something happens that I am hoping does!!! If you haven't read this series yet, you are missing out on a great set!!!

As usual Ms Frost had another excellent winner in Red Velvet & Revenge. I enjoyed it immensely. Especially the red herring Oliver created and the surprise of who done it. Ms Frost is an excellent writer & has kept up the excellence through each novel I have read. I look forward to reading the next novel which I preodered. I have all the books & look forward to rereading them many times into the future. By the way, I rate books as excellent if I can reread them knowing the ending & still finding the pleasure I had the 1st time I read it & Ms Frost certainly has done that.

I love Julia, Jesse, Barker, Sue and Dot and all the rest of them. Ms. Frost keeps me entertained and makes me laugh out loud sometimes. I am going to order some Peppermint licorice tea and try it. I do wish however that the recipes for some of Julia's creations would be included in the book.

I love the Peridale Cafe mysteries and look forward to each new one. Red Velvet and Revenge did not disappoint! I appreciate and enjoy the characters growing and moving on to the next stage of their lives, and the love and support they show for one another. Then there's a baking contest where things turn ugly in a hurry and there's a killer to identify, leading to questions, theories and danger. Did not see the the ending coming as it did! Great read...I highly recommend this series.

The mystery in this book was different, but not quite as Interesting as others. I really appreciated this story because it kept the characters moving forward. It was funny and heartwarming to see Julia and Barker with a baby as well as to see Jessie take a step into adulthood. Good overall book.

Have you ever rode on a roller coaster that has loops within it's track? I got so closely caught up in this series book #16 Red Velvet and Revenge, my stomach is still riding the loops flipping around. I really thought I had figured out "who done it" ...But no....this is intense. There were a few straight lays of tract but immediately sharp turns ensued. I am an emotional mess! In a satisfying way. 👍👍👍Great book. Agatha Frost you did it again😂

As always, I know when I pick up the latest Peridale Cafe Mystery I am guaranteed a great read!I love the characters and their development over the series.This latest story had me guessing and entertained right up to the end!The characters are written realistically with honesty and warmth and never come across as caricatures.I cannot wait to read the next one!

I have now read all Agatha Frost's previous books about Peridale village, the home of Julia, her now husband Barker, adopted daughter Jessie and of course there is Dot, Julia's feisty grandmother and this one does not disappoint. I love reading on to find out how "the gang" are doing, what's happening in the village and and what new murder Julia is now involved in solving. In this one, Julia's sleuthing of the murder of a rather nasty co-judge of a new village cake competition gets her into more hot water and Barker comes up with some 'protective' gadgets, whilst wrestling with writing an elusive second book. Though I had the murderer pegged fairly early on, it was fun reading to discover how and why and what the other characters were getting up to.

Full of adventure, love, hate, mystery in a small village in the Cotswold. DELIGHTFUL FROM BEGINNING TO END. Well written. Mis Frost never disappoints!

I like it in that there is little or no swearing or blasphemy. Its a good plot and I like following the lives of the characters

I feel like Julia and her family are old friends. If you like a bit of mystery then this series is a must read. I am now eagerly awaiting the next installment of the adventures in Peridale.
