PINOLILLO/CORN DRINK MIX (14oz x2)

This stuff is the real deal! Unsweetened and everything. As a Pinolera living in the US, I have encountered my fair share of brands in the occasional Latin store (it’s usually difficult to even find the stuff!), but they’re from El Salvador and come presweetened (still delicious in my opinion). It’s nice to have the option to sweeten it as much or as little as I like. I usually only get pinolillo from Nicaragua when family members go there on trips and bring it back. I am so happy to find this here on Amazon! I received my package promptly and the pinolillo is very good. This particular brand of pinolillo is more like the kind I remember having as a kid. It’s somewhat of a courser ground product which means that it won’t dissolve easily which means that there will be plenty of deliciousness to scoop up with a spoon at the bottom! For my non-Nica peeps, if you’ve stumbled onto this product and are wondering if you should try it, I would say absolutely yes! Pinolillo is a little like horchata, in the sense that it can be served like an agua fresca. But, rather than being rice based, it is corn and cacao (raw form of cocoa) based. So, there you go!

Easily dissolved in water as I had hoped

Después de un largo tiempo sin tomar pinolillo, decidí comprar el producto a este proveedor. Compré cuatro bolsitas que vinieron bien empacadas y selladas. El sabroso aroma y el exquisito sabor invocaron en mí muchas memorias de Nicaragua. Recomiendo el producto.

I'm not sure the description was a good one. I was expecting a sweetened version of this product. It is very bitter. I should have checked the ingredients so that's on me. I'll look for a sweeter version.
