Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  I’ve had my Jinbei for three months now and have to say I am quite happy with the product, especially when taking into consideration that this is a price point item, with other Jinbei cost 3 or 4 times the price. The stitching and fabric is holding up well even after it has been washed dozens of times. I don’t machine dry it and thus have had no problem with shrinkage. I have recently ordered a second one as this has become my standard lounge wear for around the house on sick days and weekends. Even if guests come over or I have to run to the store real quick, I have received nothing but compliments on my Jinbei. I may even order a 3rd one, lol.

I read Japanese and can confirm that 1) this jinbei was made in China, and 2) it is 100% cotton fabric. Regardless of the claims of the company selling it ("Edoten"), it was not made in Japan.I ordered it in Size "L" and it fits pretty well (I am 5'10", 165 lbs.). It is comfortable (the fabric is slightly ribbed and not as comfortable as a cotton t-shirt) and looks good. The shorts are reasonably loose and can probably fit sizes 32-34 quite well.

I have been looking for this type of Japanese styled kimono jacket. But the main problem is the Asian sizes never fit big American guys like me. This one fits great. The fit and finish on it are superb. No loose threads or sloppy sewing. A very nice product. I am impressed and grateful I will not have to return this one.

Love wearing these around the house and grounds. Very comfortable, breathes well and the whole outfit costs as much as a single dress shirt. Light fabric is breathable and cool.Keep in mind that these are Japanese manufacture and Japanese sizes run smaller than American sizes. I'm 5/11 @190 lbs and the XL fits me very nice (even after some shrinkage). I have a couple XL and one L set. The L initially fit me well, but I put it through the dryer and now it's a tad too small. I take special care to hang dry my Jinbei and Samue now. It *will* shrink a bit in the dryer.The stitching and weave is very good. It holds up well. But be careful if you want to remove the tag in the top. Tearing out the tag will result in stitching damage. Even then... it's confined to the tag area and doesn't seem to come un-stitched.The only complaint I have about any of my Jinbei is the bottom. The waist is elasticized with a drawstring... yet there's also a button and a zipper... Why? it's pointless and just runs up the price of manufacture. Also, all the pockets seem to be unnecessary. The clothing is so light you wouldn't want to fill up the pockets or your pants would be constantly tugged down

I purchased this for my son's "Heritage" project at school. They were encouraged to wear costumes from their ancestral background. Being 1/2 Japanese and living there several years, I wanted something authentic, not like a Halloween costume knock-off. Due to time constraints we were unable to order directly from Japan so turned to our trusty Amazon. This was exactly what we wanted! Authentic and great quality! Lovely, rich, dark blue fabric. Went very nicely with his tabi socks and geta. He was very proud to wear it :) And I also like that he can wear it after his presentation because it's not some cheap costume. Very pleased!

I have a Santa Claus 5'8" frame at 225 lbs with 48" chest, so I buy the XXXL, knowing it will shrink just a tad and be the right fit, though still comfortably loose. On hot summer days here in Southern California, especially in August when monsoonal moisture comes up from Baja California; this jimbei is perfect...just like the humid nights I experienced when living in Japan. I love the fit and how it ties in two places for the jacket. Truly my fave casual wear...just around the house and garden, mind you.

I ordered an XXL fearing an XL or L would be too small due to Japanese sizes, however the XXL is very roomy for me, and it didn't shrink in the wash - I could probably have gone down a size without problem, but I don't mind it being slightly large since you can tie the pants and the jacket is meant to be fairly big.Quality is good, though the material is fairly thin so I'm a bit scared the pants can wear down quickly if sitting too much. Very comfortable for lounging around indoors, and I expect it to be nice in summer as well.

I am super happy to have gotten this for my boyfriend for an upcoming japan festival. It feels authentic and looks it as well. I decided to go a size up because the material is cotton and it was the right choice.Update may 2019:So I bought a few more for my guys and now we have a clan if jinbeis at festivals.

中国製であることを心配していたが、特に問題なし。デニム色だが、デニム生地ではない。甚平好きな自分には好印象。洗って縮むかな、と思いワンサイズ大きめにしたが、その必要はなかった。ま、ゆったり目に着ることにした。

ポケットありで…良かったけど大きすぎた！残念。

デニムの良さを生かしながら、涼しげな甚平。ナイスなイデタチ。かけーアイテム。
