White Mountain Puzzles Tapestry Cat - 1000 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle

This is a very large puzzle -be prepared! The pieces are large and made of sturdy material. The design is wonderful. The edge pieces have a yellow stripe on them so it's easy to pull them out. I wanted a puzzle that would work my brain and take me a little time to put together, and this is it.

This was a fun puzzle. No missing peices. The picture print quality is clear and colorful.

I was that intimidated by this puzzle. I knew it was going to be difficult, especially with the repeats in the border. I set it up on my puzzle table and spent a lot of time looking at it. There were many days I didn't work on it because I was frustrated by only being able to add one or two pieces in a day. The design, however, was so gorgeous that I kept plugging at it and FINALLY finished it on March 24, 2024!I didn't start with the border first, as I usually do, because of all the repetition, but as I worked my way to their pieces I realized there was a slight difference in the size of the outer red border which told me which pieces went on each piece. That was very helpful.The difficulties I had were few - for example figuring which corner went in each corner, but considering the width of the red border helped. The artwork lifted on a few pieces and I will glue them down.I don't usually glue my puzzles together, but contribute them to a VA hospital. Considering how long it took me to complete this, it will definitely be glued and mounted. (My friend delivers most of them to a psych unit). I would definitely not recommend this puzzle for someone who frustrates easily! Another problem was that the pieces didn't lock together all that securely. When I snagged part of the puzzle on my sleeve and a bunch of pieces got separated I was really annoyed since it had taken so much effort to put them together.I decided to read the one star reviews as I got closer to finishing the puzzle and noted that many people reported missing pieces. Convinced as I was with many other pieces that there weren't enough pieces to finish I was beginning to feel that I certainly didn't have all of them, and was ALMOST correct when ONE PIECE was missing...HOWEVER...it was on the floor.

This puzzle was so much fun and challenging!! It was much harder than I anticipated with the repeating border but the end product was just gorgeous. The colors are vibrant and the pieces fit together nicely. This is one of my most favorite puzzles I’ve done and we do a lot of puzzles. We always have a puzzle set up on the puzzle table and average about one a week. Love White Mountain puzzles.

My husband and I lost patience with completing the outside border of this tapestry. I originally thought that would be the easiest as it was a repetitive pattern. The inside of the picture was completed at our usual pace. So if you want a challenge, this is the one for you!

Just looking at the picture of what this puzzle would look like once I had finished it was enough to make me want to order it. I put it out on the table on Christmas Day for everybody to have the opportunity to work on it. In all, only 3 of us were willing to try. This is a very challenging puzzle for several reasons.First - the puzzle is so large (24 x 30) that it takes up almost the entire width of my old farmhouse style kitchen table. I had to do a lot of standing up and walking around just to reach all sections of the puzzle.Second - the motifs are exact repeats within the two borders. The outer border has four identical motifs in each corner so you never knew which pieces went with which corner. The other band of border is a different motif, which repeats endlessly around the entire inside.All in all, this is a wonderfully challenging puzzle. This definitely requires patience. Time after time I was sure that a particular piece had been left out only to finally find what I was looking for. Many of the pieces also fit together very nicely, but proved to be the wrong piece for that spot. It took me about 5 1/2 days to finish the puzzle but I had help from two other people when it was first put out. I would have liked to just leave it up and work it at my leisure, but such is not my nature. Now it will sit out for a while so that I can admire the picture. I was working on it so intently I didn't see the beauty of it until I was finished.

White Mountain usually has puzzles that are collages - favorite candy, 60's, 70's, best musicals etc. But this puzzle is magnificently different - it is of a beautiful cat - like one that you might color in an adult coloring book. The colors were bold and bright. I enjoyed putting it together. I ordered the puzzle with "extra large pieces", as I am getting older. These pieces stayed together - if you were moving them. Overall, sturdy pieces, bright, varied colors, great subject and affordable. I am very pleased!

One of the most delightful puzzles I have had the pleasure to work. I knew what I was getting into from reading others' comments. I struggled with the borders, next did the flowers and added the cat. worked the background last. How many times did I think there were pieces missing? But just completed and all the pieces were there. Would recommend this to anyone who really loves a challenge. I am sorry to end this journey.
