Somethings old and a few new
I had books from 4-6 years ago back when DDR3 was the newest tech. I thought I needed to get "up to date" on the newest tech. Other than processor sockets have changed and there's DDR4, I could have really saved my money. The author does a good job on building and if this is your first book, you could do a lot worse. There is a good deal dedicated to Windows 10 which is the most important part of this book IMHO. So, if you already have a recent book on building, there's dozens of web tech articles and YT to get you up to date. Your best bet is to buy a good guide on Windows 10 as this will be the hardest learning curve when going from XP or 7 like I have to.

Helped my son get the job done
My son wanted to build his own computer rather than get one already made (he is 17). So for Xmas we took him out to get the parts that he already researched and picked out but since he had never done it I wanted to get him some help just in case he needed it. I looked on Amazon and there weren't too many choices but I gave this one a shot and he actually used it to make sure he wasn't missing anything. He probably could have figured it out on his own or Googled it but he did say he found some things in this book that he never would have thought to check so for $12 it was totally worth it!

Worth it.
The advice I got from the troubleshooting section was worth it on it's own. Tons of good info.

Great read if you're a beginner at building computers
I have built several computers myself and wanted to see if this book offered any helpful tips for me and it did. Very well written and easy to understand. There are a couple of minor errors in the book, but, nothing too serious. Never checked for an errata sheet. I highly recommend it to beginners. Before reading this book I started reading "How to Build a Computer: The Best Beginner's Guide" by Douglas L. Miller, but, found that book not to be as well written as this one. That book didn't flow like this one does.

If you lack confidence and are Afraid
This book helps - but unless you're incapable of actually plugging pieces together and doing research for the parts you need, this book is like reading the news, most of which that is actually reported can be stated in 25 words or less but goes on so long you stop reading it but still have to pay for it anyway

Very Informative and easy to read
This book was very easy to read and got to the point straight away. It was very straight forward to follow and I have learned a lot from it. I will likely be referring back to this book when I come to build my own PC in the future. Highly recommend.
