Great illustrations and story. It's about a mouse who is artistically inclined. What stands out for my 3 year old is the illustrations. He asks what every drawing means. I'd love to get more Lionni books for kiddo.

The first Leo lionni book we read, me n my son. Looking forward to reading more books from the author.

Beautiful book that introduces kids to the finer aspects of life - poetry and imagination.

As an adult, I quite like this book, especially for the story content than the illustrations. But my little boy, isn't interesting neither in the story nor the illustrations. Perhaps he's too little to understand what the author is trying to portray here!

This a book about A small field mouse fredrick...while among other mouse gathers food for winter and keep busy collecting grains and other stuffs. this one unique mouse gathers picture and images in his vision ...he totally gets the scenario we are all stuck right now. To see light and bring life with colours once the world closes in..A wonderful book for all ages to see and embrace life and to see beauty in all forms . Recommend for all age group

The paperback and the hardcover are the the original text from 1967. This IS the authentic edition. It has the Caldecott award stamp, and the author cited.(Don't be fooled by the board book "friends" edition, it's rewritten for 1 year old babies.)

Frederick is not your usual children's book.I have purchased this for a few generationsof children. Grandkids, grand nephews, andsoon to be Great grandson. It is a greatstory and the illustrations are top notch.
