A trip down memory 'highway'!
As far as I'm concerned this is a legendary album. This was one of the great LP's in my music collection during the early '70's. In those day's I used to listen a lot to the more 'progressive' radio stations in the Netherlands, like 'VPRO radio, right here'. Their DJ's had great taste and because of that they 'promoted' a lot of music that in later years turned out to be the base for what is now called 'Americana'. The Commander and his 'gang' were in the top league as were also The Band, Dan Hicks, Gram Parsons, The Grateful Dead (to a certain extend) and The Byrds in their later years. When CD's became the preferred medium I got rid of my LP's and I'l never forgive myself for that!Anyway, enough nostalgia for now. To lay my hands on the CD of this particular album was always a big wish of mine. And now I have and I still find it a great album; it survived the test of time. It's a perfect collection of songs, the band is in top form and the fun they had making this album just jumps out of the speakers. Absolutely recommended!

Great first album by a fantastic band
This a first cd by a band that is faithful to the country and western swing tradition. Their efforts are sincere and the cd is a pleasure to listen to. The cover art work is great. This cd is somewhat hard to get so get it if you see it.Happy listening!

Mama Hated Diesels
For reasons unknown to me the early Commander Cody catalogue is only recently becoming available on CD. This, their second album, is more straight-ahead country than its predecessor or the third recording, the irrepressible "Country Casanova." In other words, not so much of the novelty stuff for which they are remembered. I saw them live in their heyday (1975) in a small venue and they were crazy as bats and a ton of fun. Again, this album is a bit more country than rock, but not bad for all that. They truly liked this stuff.

BEST OF THE EARLY YEARS ORIGINAL COMMANDER CODY ALBUMS!
This new CD has excellent sound quality, and features the original band lineup. Excellent choice of material. Combined with the previous year's album "CC & LPA" with the psychedelic cowboy face (my #2 choice); this pair of albums have their very best original tunes and original arrangement covers of their career. "Hot Licks" was not re-published for many years, and now appears to be available again. I recommend that you arrange for full in-stock availability for this CD, so every fan who's been searching for it for all these years can finally get his own copy! I wouldn't be surprised if it sold well in retail brickfront stores, as well.

A Classic...revisited.
I had this album in the early 70's. It was a big part of my introduction to country rock...& the great pedal steel guitar playing, by the legendary, Bobby Black. And they are excellent at playing Western swing, as well as "boogie" type rock.Anyway, I purchased this new REMASTERED CD...& it is excellent! It really brings back great memories...& it just simply, sounds great!!The remastering, did help the audio quality, very much. I'm so glad I purchased this classic album CD!

The finest version of "Mama Hated Diesels"
Absolutely the best CCATLPA, ever! !! Bar none! !I have other versions of Mama Hated Diesels, but there seems to be a bit too much Cocaine fuel in them. This version of Mama Hated Diesels is absolutely perfect. It's the finest cryin' in yer beer song ever written! !!

An album who's re-release on CD has been long overdue but now most welcome
A must have for any Commander Cody fans out there. They did a greater job transferring and remastering this album from the original analog tapes to CD. It's classic country-road house foot stomping rock music that still sounds fresh and alive as it did in the early 70s during the height of my party days.

If you like Tele, steel, fiddle, country like only the Commander can do -this one's a must have!
This is a great Commander album. I had it in vinyl back in the day, and am glad to now have it in CD format. Many of the songs are standards of the band, and of Bill Kirchen's performances since. Great, great, stuff. I am a fan of that sound!
