God's Way, Not Ours

Brother Lloyd-Jones is easy to read, pastoral in his approach and full of compassion yet doesn't pull any punches. (That being said, I must confess I have not finished reading this book. I am slowly making my way through it.} the is a methodical, expository presentation of chapter one of Isaiah. I chose this book as an introduction to my personal study of Isaiah, and I am very thankful that I did. One does not need to be a theologian or a pastor to understand this book, as it is simply the sermons Lloyd-Jones preached to his own congregation. The disadvantage is that I am not actually sitting in the pew, listening in the context of the church. The advantage is that I can take my time and carefully consider each point. Let me point out that each chapter is somewhat repetitive, as at the beginning, the good doctor summarizes the previous chapter. However, be careful not to brush over it, as it will result in extra gleaning!
