Love this watch!!
I have owned this watch for over two (2) years now. At first, I purchased the identical version of G-Shock that is all blacked out. I liked the understated look in the photos. But I found out that the three (3) small LCD displays were not legible at all, it was hard to tell time in general due to the colors, and the watchface looked a little "off" because it was dark brown, not black. So, I returned that version and bought this one. I am very happy with my decision. This watch looks great. The pictures don't always do justice. I wish it was a little bigger - I don't have thick wrists, but this watch looks a bit small for me and bigger watches are in vogue apparently. The brushed aluminum bezel looks awesome, and the rubber casing gives it rugged good looks. The red hour hand adds style to the watch - that's my favorite "feature" actually. . . .My skin is allergic to the nickel in stainless steel, but the battery lid of this watch does not bother me. I also have not gotten rash from the rubber strap of this watch, like I often do with other watches. When I used to wear a much more expensive watch (stainless steel), I would cringe every time my lower arm would brush something in day-to-day life. With this G-Shock watch, I don't even care if I bang it into anything - very liberating. The atomic clock time setting feature is great. The watch grabs the atomic signal around 2 a.m. every night, and keeps the true time. It's great knowing that you always have the correct time. When I first got the watch, it would not sync with the atomic clock signal. I had placed the watch on a window sill facing the open sky per the instructions . . . and nothing for two days. I finally forgot to take it off one night and fell asleep with the watch on my wrist. In the morning, it was synched! Never had a problem since, I just keep the watch on my wrist. Try that if you are having trouble synching. The solar charging feature is nice. You'll forget about it sooner or later, and that says volumes about this great feature. Mine has been on "high" charge level at all times since I got the watch, after the initial charge period. All in all, I am perfectly satisfied with my purchase. This watch presents an exceptional value.

My new favorite
Had this watch for around a month now. This watch is amazing for the price. I love the style of the dial. It has a honeycomb pattern while also having a sunburst effect to it. The applied indices, gshock logo, and rings around the digital displays are shiny and catch the light. The red hour hand is a nice, small touch that adds a bit of style. Also like the stainless brushed bezel. Its brushed on top, and polished at the edges. I really love looking at this watch a lot. Its a watch that I look at often, even when not looking at the time. The size is perfect for me and my 6.75” wrist. Its not bulky, but has enough meat to look manly. I don’t think its small, nor large, but a goldilocks size. It has solar charging and atomic clock reception. A real get up and go watch compared to my automatic watches.A lot of people complain about the red hour hand, but I have no problem seeing it in dim light. Nor do I have a problem with the led light. It lights up the dial enough to see the time. At night, I really don’t have a use for the digital displays, just the time, so its ‘enough’.I initially had problems getting the atomic clock sync. But found that the watch has a hard time getting reception if its laying on its side. If I afix the band as shown in the picture, so its standing up, it picks up the signal almost every time at night.Like this watch so much, I might pick up the blacked out version. Everyone is going crazy over the GA2100 gshock, but I think this watch offers so much more at the same size, weight, and price. This watch also has more features and better quality (the ga2100 is all plastic dial), IMO.

Nice Watch. Recommended.
Pro's:Works well. Sync's with the radio signal most nights. It is a practical watch, offering the convenience of setting itself without you having to do anything. It is a neat novelty that you can receive the time signal from Colorado on this little thing. Probably it is pretty shock resistant and waterproof, but I haven't checked it for that. With the light powered charging system, it will probably last pretty much forever, with no trouble, except for the vinyl band, which I guess will last about 5 years. After several months of use, it has no scratches or dings, which means it is pretty sturdy.Cons: Big and clunky watch. Not very easy to read in the dark, even with using the built in light. You can find articles online by Michael Lombardi that talk about the accuracy of these radio controlled watches. Bottom line is at the time they sync, they should be within about 0.03 seconds. That doesnt matter, since the readout is only to the nearest second. It really doesn't matter, since for almost everybody, accuracy to within one minute is plenty. Between syncs, which happen once a day, the accuracy depends on the quartz mechanism, which is to within about one half second per day. You could have very acceptable accuracy with a usual quartz watch by setting it manually once per month. But this is nicer. When you first get it, you will probably push the button to make it sync and it won't work. Due to inherent interactions of the atmosphere with radio signals, unless you are close to the radio station in Colorado, the watch can only sync at night. It tries several times between midnight and six each night and once it is successful, it doesn't try again until the next night. Most nights, even on the east coast, the sync is successful. The battery stays at full charge with ordinary use, without making any extra effort to expose it to bright light. It has a lot of extra features like alarms, timers and stopwatch, that I haven't used. The only tech part you have to mess with is setting the time zone, which is not too hard. If you are really not able to do tech things, you might have to get someone to do that for you, but that only would have to be done once.If the idea of a radio controlled watch intrigues you, then this is a good one to choose.

Flawless
So far, 6 months works well. I have several expensive watches, and this is the cheapest. I wear it when it might get damaged, stolen or lost. When I go abroad it newer needs a battery, and it checks it is accurate at 2am every day. So the good points are it is accurate and always works. At just over £100 I don’t care if it gets scratched, damaged or stolen. Unlike my Tag watch ! Going on holiday it is never going to run out of battery, unlike my other G-shock watch. The bad points are the hour hand, being red is hard to see at night. That’s pretty much it for the bad points, but as it is solar powered, I don’t mind too much about using the light to see the hands and lcd.

Perfect tool watch
It has atomic time keeping, which is very convenient. Perfect as a tool watch (DIY work around the house, working on the car, et al). At the price, you don't care if it gets scratched up or smashed up. It wears smaller than the size indicates. I wear watches in size, ranging from 37mm to 41.5mm and at 45mm, I was expecting it to wear big but it was fine.

L’ancienne marche toujours
