I can sharpen my chainsaw chains!
I ordered this on January 30th and received it today, February 1st. Really fast shipping, I think it came from PA which is pretty close to me. This grinder was very easy to assemble. The part that took the longest was finding screws to mount it to the work bench. I did not have any of the casting slag on mine that other reviewers had. Mine also came with two screws to mount the plastic guard, one was to short to use with both plastic parts but would work with just the main plastic part. The other screw was the right size for using to secure both plastic guard parts. Two alan wrenches are supplied, one for the guard screws, and one for the arbor screw. The only very minor thing I found is that the screw adjuster that is used to center the chain tooth stop unscrews a little from the vibration. I put a bit of teflon tape around it to resolve it.This is the third or forth chain sharpener that I have purchased over the years. They were all hand powered ones. I was going the cheap rout. And not one of them worked. This is the first electric sharpener for me. It was so simple and it works! I set the arm to 60, set the chain angle to 30, used the thinnest wheel. You can figure out the right size wheel to use by picking the thickest one that will not touch the tooth raker. Then adjust the tooth stop, and the depth of the cut. Take your time doing this adjustment, test/check it many times before turning the grinder on. I marked the first tooth with red magic marker, and started. Finished one side what seemed pretty fast. Then rotated the chain angle to 30 on the other side. I had to re-adjust the tooth stop, the distance changes when you start on the next side. I finished my gas powered saw chain, then sharpened my battery powered tiny chain using the same 60 30 angles. After finishing it, I popped a battery in it and took it outside to try cutting a 7" log. It cut through it effortlessly. The shavings were nice fluffy chips like it was when new, not the fine powdery saw dust that it was making before sharpening. I am so happy that I can get such a sharp blade!Another thing to mention, when I set up the grinder, I have it just barley touching the tooth. It makes a very few sparks. Point being, I barley took off any material so I think I will be able to get many sharpenings per chain. When I ordered this, I was computing how many new chains I could buy with the money for this machine. I wouldn't bother paying for a chain to be sharpened I would just use it up and buy a new one. I think this sharpener will pay for itself. I also get a great satisfaction being able to put a factory fresh edge on my chains. A dull chain still sort of feels sharpish when I run my fingers on it, but after using this grinder on it I realize that the chain really was dull. I have the pole trimmer chain to do, and an electric chain saw to do next. The electric one has been out of commission for years because I didn't want to buy a new chain for it. Now it will be in service again. Terrific!

Easy to use - works well
I go through about 4 cords of wood per winter - we have 5 fireplaces. It is great to have a tool that really is easy to use and does the job. Saves a lot of time and money - not only taking the chains to the store to sharpen, driving to pick them up, but mostly not having a sharp one on hand when you hit a stone. One suggestion - get an extra grinding wheel for your size chain. Mine cracked and I had to wait to get a replacement - they are not available at local big box stores. Another suggestion is to mount it onto a bourd which you then mount with C-clamps to the bench. That way it is out of the way until you need it.

Sharpener
Works good my only complaint would be the chain lock keeps coming loose other than that it works greats that’s why it got 4 stars

Motor onlty runs in one direction
I have an Emak sharpener at work. I am a small engine mechanic, and also sharpen many chainsaw chains on a constant basis. I would give my Emak sharpener 5 stars, mainly because the motor runs both clockwise and counterclockwise, depending on which side of the chain you are sharpening. I subtract one star for the uni-directional motor on the Timber Tuff. The quality of sharpness suffers on one side because of only having the motor running in one direction. I subtract another star for the fact that the overall quality of this machine is nowhere on par with the Emak. The overall feel of the machine is cheaper and "chinsier". It is not smooth in pivoting or setting up the angles or in clamping the chain. In conclusion i would say that for the price, this is a good machine, but only because of the price. If you sharpen chains constantly like I do spend the extra money on a quality product. I have this Timber Tuff for my personal use where I will occasionally sharpen a chain and it sure beats the old file. Only rememeber, you get what you pay for.

Complete Junk save your money!
I am never one to give anything a super bad review. This is one product that I found to be worthless nothing good about it. You can’t adjust the angles. This machine is supposed to be able to however the screws they put in the cheap degree scale are to long and bite into the little disc that woukd allow for adjustment. When I tried to free it up. The bearings the degree adjustment cane flying out. That was fun to find the parts. The back angle adjustment rubs against the degree scale and bends the scale up making it useless. This machine was complete junk. I was not even able to get past the set up stage. Save your money and buy a high quality one. This thing was not worth $20. Total disappointment. I Was so excited when I received it. Kick in the gut to not even get to try it out. Poorly quality assurance inspection. But hey there box it comes in looks pretty cool definitely a lot of thought put into its design. The box was more exciting then the machine itself.

Great tool with useless instructions
The sharpener is solidly constructed and works well, making quick work of sharpening my chains, doing a much better job than I had managed to do by hand, in spite of much effort on my part to learn this skill. So I am very pleased. I also appreciate the built-in work light, that I do not think the very similar Oregon equivalent sharpener has. (Cannot confirm this, but could find no mention of such a light in any of the Oregon literature.) I would have given 5 stars, except that the instructions are all but useless for assembly and, especially, operation. If a person is not mechanically inclined and confident, they might find this an impossible tool to assemble and operate. Packaging was also rather flimsy, with some pieces rattling around in the carton by the time it reached my address. Nothing was lost or broken, but easily could have been. Nonetheless, once set up, it works really well.
