For those who liked the original Ravenloft...
I found this to be a resource well above the level of the usual RPG publication. For those who love the feel and mood of the original Ravenloft and the many classic themes of the horror genre, there is room for almost all of them here. It presents some suggestions and house rules for enhancing the presence of fear and horror in your game, but doesn't pound you over the head with any of it. The setting is wonderful, with all of the counties of Ustalav having their unique flavors and not a boring one among them! Some great NPC's add to the tools at the GM's disposal. The back-story for this nation is rich and high-potential, full of interesting lore and tidbits for the game master to develop further if they so wish. I originally bought this because I picked up the Carrion Crown adventure path as my first foray into Pathfinder, but after reading this book I've fallen completely in love with the setting. Great job, Paizo and author Wes Schneider!

Another place to not hang out
If you want your Gothic Horror, well Pathfinder has you covered. Another place to do what you are there for, and get the heck out of Dodge.

A good setting for lovers of gothic horror.
Whilst perhaps lacking some of the richness of a setting like Ravenloft, this description of Ustalav provides space for almost all of the Gothic classics - vampires and other undead, Frankensteinian mad scientists, werewolves, serial killers, haunted houses, religious fantacism, strange cults and secret societies - whilst binding it all into a believable whole and keeping it firmly rooted within Golarion.
