Mad Catz The Authentic R.A.T. 6+ Optical Gaming Mouse, Black

I had a Rat 3+ that no matter what, I always found myself returning to, even after breaking and super gluing it back together numerous times. This mouse is great! For whatever reason, my wrist does not hurt when using this mouse or while using the previous 3+. Maybe it is due to the thumb and pinky finger being a little more relaxed while using it? The option to change the weight of the mouse is pretty cool. I ended up taking out one of the weights and found that perfect. Last, the response time and accuracy of the mouse is superb! If you are shopping around, I'd say look no further. You will not be disappointed!

I'm not a bit gamer any more. But, I'm used to the feel of my old RAT8+ which started having trouble with the mouse wheel (not always registering when I tried to scroll). I tried a "regular" mouse for a bit and it just didn't feel right. So, I purchased the RAT6+. It feels almost identical to my old RAT8+ which is awesome! I don't use any of the advances features any more. But, my hand is happy with something familiar. Note: I was concerned the mouse might have gone down in quality since the original company folded and a new company started making them. But, it appears that the quality is still high with the latest versions as well.

From what i read on the internet, this mouse has had an issue of freezing up for a while and no one has resolved it. Like the past 7 years. Also tech support will not help unless you send a video of it freezing up. Which is weird and impossible. There are no instructions. There are no howto documents. but there are several warning labels bout hazards. No idea why they still sell this. Other than the annoying constant freeze up, it is a neat mouse. but reminds me of the days of massive lag. ***Solution to the freeze up*** Install the companion software, change the light setting to black. It uses less electricity, thus stops it from freezing up. 5 stars. would be six if I didn't have to turn stuff off.

I've had this mouse already for four years, and bought a new one after my last one stopped working from being sat on. Lol, don't ask! -- It works very well, and it's nice having the thumb rest. The weight to it is also vvery nice.

Other then the headline its pretty solid.

What more can I say? This is a legendary device, and it's back in all its glory. There are a couple of caveats that don't affect the rating, because they are subjective and specific to my case: 1) I don't care much for RGB, and it's not entirely obvious how to disable it without their software (I'm on Linux so no dice there – but maybe there's a bit I can set or something...), and 2) compared to the original run, the precision button on the far left works differently: it used to send a button press that was interpreted by the software, and now it momentarily changes the DPI on the mouse itself. While the new way is actually more reliable, the old way could be used to tie a different function to that button.

This mouse is phenomenal, as it is very heavy but well shaped. The finger rests fit my large-ish hands well and the software, though elusive and hard to find, is sufficient and does a good job at explaining functions. the rgb is bright but not distracting, and the mouse itself has good feel. One thing I would like to point out is that the left click and right click are two separate panels from the body, which makes clicking more precise. The sniper button is well placed, and the dpi buttons are easily pressed if intended to. They are positioned in such a way that you have to use your entire finger to press them, not the side of your finger. The second scroller on the back is great for pausing music or difficult commands when you are running a heavy game, like task manager. I would highly recommend this mouse for large palmed people.

I give Mad Catz RAT mice 5 stars for gaming performance. I give these same mice a 0 for longevity, robustness, and durability. They beak far to quickly and it takes no abuse. This is the third RAT6 I have owned. The first lasted 2 years, second 1.5 years, and now the one I am currently using, at the 10th month has a thumb button stop working. Over my gaming career, these are hands down some of the best gaming mice I have ever used, matter of fact I have owned a dozen of the different varieties over the years, but damn, they dont last, especially when you consider the price I have paid for some of them.

Excellent mouse, nothing to complain about. The side scroll is the best function which is typically absent in other mice.

Anteriormente había usado un 9+ y me encantó, desgraciadamente las baterías dijeron hasta aquí y no pude conseguir ningún sustituto. Los materiales del 6+ se sienten de menos calidad, así como la construcción en general, sin embargo, funciona de maravilla y tiene la ventaja de ser USB. En general muy satisfecho con la compra.

I've had two Rat 5 in the last 6 years or so. Now now a Rat 6+. I recently wore out my last Rat 5 from intense gaming. So I thought I'd try some other brands and sent them all back. This Madcatz mouse is what I consider the best and most adjustable mouse for the money. Sturdy frame that is great for a claw grip. If you like a humpy mouse this is not for you as it's low profile. The palm rest does adjust so maybe you can use it. Has Macro's and key binding. Sniper setting at your thumb for FPS, which I use a lot. Weapon switching is easy and quick as is reload capability. Just buy it and see for yourself, can always return it but don't think you will. My stuff is high end gamer so I know. Update..returned due to key binding in software doesn't work. I gave up on this version.
