So far, so good. UPDATED: Still great; not perfect.
* SECOND UPDATE: I've had these shoes for just about one year at this point, and I've worn them nearly every day. Here are my observations:- The footbed has compressed further. They are still relatively comfortable, but walking on uneven or gravelly surfaces is more noticeable now. However, one benefit of this is that the foot moves less in the shoe during wet weather (as mentioned in the original review).- The sole is finally showing some wear under the ball of my foot, but the tread still has definition throughout. I'm somewhat impressed with the longevity of the sole in comparison to most other sandals I've owned.- The thong and upper are still in good shape and show no signs of deterioration or separation from the shoe. One shoe's strap *might* have stretched a bit, but if so, it's so minimal that it's really difficult to tell for sure.- I, along with other reviewers here, have noticed an issue of the front end having the problem of catching on the ground and "folding" under the shoe. This only happened once in the first 6 months of ownership, but it seems to have become a bit worse with age, happening probably once every couple of weeks now. I think it's due to a combination of sole wear and footbed compression, as well as possible strap-stretching. I'm wondering if the people that observed it from their initial purchase bought their's a bit too big? Either way, it's particularly vexing, because it tends to shred the front of the shoe when it happens on pavement, wearing it down further and leaving hanging bits of rubber that need to be clipped off.FINAL THOUGHTS:Unfortunately, due to the above folding problem, along with the traction issues that I mentioned in the last update, I've decided to drop a star from the initial review. These are very good shoes and are still among the best sandals I've ever owned, but there are some obvious improvements that could be made, particularly for someone who wears them every day. On the other hand, if you do not wear sandals every day, you will likely find that these will last you a long time; just take particular care to avoid getting it in a size that is too big for your foot.*Additional comment: I've noticed some more recent reviews refer to this shoe as having a "high" arch. I would agree that it is higher than most sandals (particularly cheap ones that just have no arch at all), but truly high arches kill my feet, and these shoes are very comfortable to me. I wouldn't expect that the manufacturing process would have changed over the last year, but just as a warning, YMMV when it comes to arch support.===================================================================================*UPDATE: I've had these shoes for ~5 months now. These are my daily wearers, and I live in a climate that allows me to use them even in winter. Here are my observations:PROS: Despite some obvious compression, the footbed is still quite comfortable. There is no noticeable stretching, tearing, or other deterioration in the thong or upper, and there is no indication that they will fall apart on me any time soon. These shoes are well constructed. Tread wear is almost non-existent. They look almost like the day I bought them (also a possible con; see below). The colors haven't faded at all.CONS: Traction in certain wet environments (especially things like high-traffic tile floors during a rainstorm) is a big issue. They don't look like they would have as poor traction as they do, but I think the reason is indicated by the lack of tread wear. The outsole has held up so well because it is quite hard, which doesn't allow for much compression, and thus gives poor traction. They are still better than the Reef Phantoms, but I would put the Ohana only slightly over average for traction ability. The rubber outer edge of the shoe is prone to some cosmetic wear. I've rubbed them up against a curb or door on occasion, and it's a little more obvious than I would have expected. If the makers had used that same rubber for the bottom of the shoe, these shoes would probably have better traction (but wear down MUCH faster). In general, I am still happy with the purchase. These are definitely one of myfavorite pairs.===================================================================================*ORIGINAL REVIEW:I wear sandals daily, pretty much year-round. An unfortunate fact is that mostsandals are not made for everyday wear. The problems range: many are toouncomfortable for long-term use, others just can't handle constant wear andquickly degrade. Some will be durable and comfortable, but ugly as sin, whilestill more will have weird quirks, like excessive "squeakiness," especially whenwet. However, my single biggest peeve is that so many of them, even veryexpensive ones, have extremely poor soles. I don't expect them to allow youto run in a downpour, but I would hope that if I am caught in an afternoonshower, they have enough traction to keep me from careening off the sidewalk.I've owned many sandals with which you can "skate" on smooth, dry surfaces likelinoleum (e.g. Reef Phantoms).I've been wearing the Olukai 'Ohana sandals for a little over three weeks now,and so far I am impressed, which is not an easy thing to do, especially at thisprice. Here are a few key things I like about these sandals so far:Comfort: The first surprise was that they feel ridiculously comfortable to me.It should be noted that I have pretty flat feet, so I require a very specificamount of arch support - just enough to prevent tendinitis, but not so much thatmy foot is contorted. These are PERFECT for that. They have a low-profile arch, but are very solid. The bed is somewhat spongy, but not too thick, which makesthem very comfortable without being sweaty in warm weather. It remains to beseen how long they will maintain the shape and sponginess, but they seem wellmade, so I have high hopes. These are the most comfortable sandals I have everowned, but people with high arches may want to avoid them (especially if youplan to wear them often).Thong: Another thing I appreciate is the nylon thong. My last pair of fairlyexpensive sandals (Sperry Top-Siders) were fantastic for looks and traction, butthe leather thong had only a weak scrap of cotton as supplementary support, andit soaked up moisture. One of them rotted through in less than a year. They arenow unwearable. The 'Ohana feels very well made, and the nylon won't rot.Looks: I bought the Dark Java color. The Sperrys (in very similar colors) wereprobably the best looking pair of sandals I've ever owned, but these are a solidsecond. The nylon thong, while very functional, is still just woven nylon. I wasworried about the lighter foot-bed attracting dirt, but it hasn't been a problemso far. The two-tone style really makes them stand out without being gaudy, andthe toe-shaped foot-bed adds some flair to what would otherwise be a fairlyplain-looking shoe.Traction/Wet weather performance: I took these out into a rainstorm for areal-world test. This category is where these shoes both excel and fall flat. The sole is great. Not QUITE as good as the Sperrys, but certainly closeenough. (They are significantly better than my Reef Phantoms.) The 'Ohana'ssole will keep your feet planted...or at least the shoe. See, the issue is thatwhen the foot-bed gets wet, it becomes slick as soap. Your feet want to slideWITHIN the shoe. Fortunately, the my sizing was perfect, and my foot remainedtethered in the shoe by the thong and upper. Even though it was disconcerting,I could actually jog a short distance before I felt like I was tempting fate. However, if you bought these even SLIGHTLY too big, you would do well to avoidwet weather. This is the only true caveat I have found with these shoes at thispoint in time.So far I feel that these are great sandals, even given the relatively highprice. As mentioned before, make SURE that you get the right size for your foot, and be weary if you have a high arch. I will try to update this review aftersome more use to see if they hold up.

Why did I wait so long...
$75 seemed like an outrageous amount to spend on flip flops, but the from the first second I slipped them on I understood why. They are so comfortable. I normally wear Birks around the house - no shoes inside Hawaiian style - but these Ohanas put them to shame with the soft footbed and support in the arch. I don't want to take them off. They are totally worth the money. They are a little wider than most flip flops I've owned, but not in an annoying way. For what it's worth, I also own a pair of Nuis, which run small, are narrower, less supportive, & more expensive. On the flip side, they do look a little dressier.

Very comfortable, feels good on my feet
These are probably the most comfortable sandals I myself have ever purchased. The top of the sandal, which touches the bottom of your foot, feels like suede. I bought these in preparation for a trip I’m planing to Maui. I will update if I discover anything negative about them after wearing them a much longer amount of time. But so far they are pretty comfy.

True to size
Originally, I tried the leather version the high-end ones. They fit small and were really tight. So with these I thought I’d go up a size, from 12 to13. I wear a 12 shoe. The 13 was too big, the 12 fits perfect with about a half inch to 5/8 front and back. This model is definitely wider. Not double E wide, but wider than medium. The sandals are comfortable already with just around the house use.

Just the right amount of support.
As a man who has NEVER enjoyed this type of shoe, I can say with 100% confidence that these are the answer. They have the perfect amount of arch support, they're light as a feather, and the material feels great on your feet. Highly recommend!

Love them!
I was hesitant to spend this much on flip flops but they are worth it. Quality is fantastic, look is awesome and they are the most comfortable I’ve ever had!!

Amazing quality - give them a bit of time to break in
Did alot of research before purchasing my first pair of OluKai sandals. The initial fit was snug and did get some light blisters on my left foot the first time I wore them but that is after intensive walking for 9KM on the very first wear. I'm sure this would not have happened if I eased into them. No issues since and the sandals are living up to their reputation so far.

My husband loves these
The last pair I had bought my Hubby lasted about 5 yrs. He wore that almost everyday. Then I bought him another brand which was less expensive & looked nice & durable. It turned out to be not as comfortable & the material made his feet stink. Needless to say, I ended up buying this again. He was so happy it melted my heart. He really loves them. I will keep buying the same thing. It's worth every penny.
