A State Of Trance 2004

la verdad es que este disco esta flojo...malo, malo no es; pero bueno tampoco.El CD1 es mejor que el 2. El CD1 recien mejora a partir del octavo tema hasta el final, pero el inicio realmente no ofrece grandes cosas y es un mix sin sobresaltos hasta el tema 8 de "perpetuous dreamer". Ahora solo se que la proxima que escuche este CD voy de frente a saltar hasta el tema 8 y aahorrarme el disgusto de los 7 primeros.El CD2 si es aburrido de verdad; salvo "michael burns" y su "the ambience" ademas de un par de temas mas, no vale la pena y es monotono, ego, aburrido!!!4 estrellas para el CD1, 3 estrellas para el CD2. por lo tanto promedio 3.5, pero como decimos aca: "medio punto a favor del alumno" por ello le doy 4, aunque me dan mas ganas de darle 3 estrellas nomas.Recomiendo "universal religion 2004" tambien de armin van buuren en vez de este disco.marco

This was kind of my first introduction to AVB, heard him on DI a while back and bough his cd. Good Trance is hard to find these days especially if you dont like fast, drummy beats. I prefer the mellow mood this whols CD sets. You can just throw it on and listen to the whole thing without skipping tracks.Tracks blend well. If you like Tiesto you will probably enjoy his stuff, not too mainstream and not too much vocals. "Sahara" and "Burned with desire" are very hot so I will probably buy his new cd too. I rate this and Tiesto's Just Be one of the best for the year. As of now I havent really gone too much into cd #2. I agree with most listeners that this cd should be short and sweet no need for 2 cd's. I guess I have been burned alot by those 'infamous' cd #2's.

When i first reviewed this album years ago, I wrote a positive review and now in 2014, that still stands. Not only trance, but the entire genre of Electronic Dance Music has evolved, with new genres having been born. This, however, is good, classic trance, with, in my opinion, some of the best works from Super 8, an amazing remix by Solarstone, classics from Oceanlab, Kyau & Albert (Then Kyau vs. Albert), Three Drives (And a vinyl) and a couple of gems from Armin, as well as his alias "Rising Star". This albums continues to be in rotation in my stereo, as well as my car, despite it's age, because old school trance...is trance, though in my eyes, during it's better years, though opinions may vary. It is truly a trip down memory lane for me and for both trance vets and those new to the genre, I still very highly recommend picking this up while Armada still releases their older albums.

I purchased this album based on some of the positive reviews I read on Amazon. Consistent with expectations, I was quite impressed by this album, and I would rank it as being one of my top 10 trance albums. I like the first CD better than the second one, but they are both very good. The best tracks on CD1 to me were 1, 2, 4, 7, and 9-12, and the best tracks on CD2 to me were 9, 11, and 13. In addition to being a great album in general, I would say that it is the second best ASOT album (behind only ASOT 2011).

Always looking for more trance, Chill, Dance, Techno, etc... I bought this CD based on many glowing reviews... As an Armin Van Burren fan, I think I'm being kind giving this 3 stars. A few of us were listening to this in the SUV (Dual 15' subs, Dynaudio, etc..) as well as at home with a great setup... but we laughed, and kept laughing every time we skipped to the next song, it sounded identical to the previous song. This 2 set CD is actually one giant long track, and nothing new or interesting here... I probably should give this CD set at least 2 stars. I love good trance, but it is the most monotonous set I have ever heard in my life... I don't recommend this CD set.

This collection is superb. It's interesting how Armin's style evolves every two years. Two years often sound similar and the next two have an all new style. There's 12 disks in total. I've listened through this many times, sometimes in reverse order to keep it fresh. Best trance there is and best producing. Tracks are made by other artists but Armin has mixed all of them. Mixes are new, he did not just throw in the originals. Everything works here. This is elevator to heaven. Other music often sounds empty after listening to these hyper-energetic tracks. Sound is very hi-tech on newer disks and you get to hear how it used to be. The State Of Trance series has continued even better during 2010-2013. Some of you might not know but Armin's first album came out in 1999 already - and it was superb. This is a cheap way to get many of his disks.

For some reason, I aquired SoT '04 AFTER '05, '06 and '07, so it is my 4th listen to the skills of Armin's mixing talent and song choice. Needless to say, I wasn't let down... just read my reviews of the other three SoT albums, and you get the idea. Trance-lovers, for you it is a must.

This a fantasic boxset full of all the great trance classics and more.its a great bargain at this price.if you like Armin van buuren this is a must.
