I bought this specifically to protect against scratching. If I drop the phone, case or no case, it's going to get damaged, so there's no point in buying a thick case. The seller photos, though looking a little unbelievable, are accurate as to how thin the case is. To give you an idea of how thin, imagine a textured plastic file folder that you'd buy for holding paper at school. Now imagine someone took that material and made a phone case out of it. this case was clearly used as the packaging clearly had tape ripped off and barely looked pieced back together. When I opened the box there were clear scratches on the back.
