Harry Potter et le Prisonnier d'Azkaban (French Language Edition of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban) (French Edition) Paperback – September 29, 2011

I like the touch of paper and imagery of Hermione. I wish I had actually received the book. I was at a homeless shelter when pursuing covertly for Americans to learn French language, but a Portuguese man and a Spanish man had intercepted the arrival of book in my hands. I do wonder what would have happened to the French book in the hands of illiterate scums. If the book is stored similarly to the Crystal Skull in the fourth installation of Indiana Jones series, then I hope that the book escapes or gets escaped, whichever earliest, into my hands. I am guessing that the book, which was supposed to be my form of meditation, education, and entertainment - given my stage of desperation and emptiness - is giving headaches to people who do not deserve to read. The reading of this book would have completed my reading of all 8 Harry Potter books. I am guessing that one day I will be writing about the instructive material for a time traveler - a wife.

Purchased this Livre Audio (French language audio book) as a gift for a Harry Potter fan taking HS French 3. The recordings are high quality with a native French speaker, so it makes following the familiar story easy. Because the story is familiar, you can perfect your ear and accent. If the mp3's are loaded onto an ipod, you can adjust the speed of the speech to make it easier to understand.

I was thrilled to find the entire Harry Potter series in French. I have to learn a language for my degree requirements, and while everyone SWEARS that Spanish is more helpful, I just never liked it much. French is much more "romantic" (but rather nasally, don't you think?). What better way to learn of Romance than through the words of J.K. Rowling? I can't wait to quote passages back to my Harry Potter-obsessed friends.

It's a very cool translation and a very nice quality. The book itself is not beginner French read, it's a professional translation, so not the best choice for beginner French learners :)

What a fantastic book! I read them all in English, but wanted to challenge myself to read it in French. The pages were very thin, but that made the book smaller and easier to transport. The book arrived much faster than I expected it.

Most of us have already enjoyed these stories in English. We know the plot well as we reread them in French. Those who are annoyed by the French nicknames need to recognize that the "play on words/"jeu de mots" in these names is part of the Harry Potter milieu. Thus, "Wormtail" is "Quedever" and "Moony" is "Lunard." This indecency is not visited on most proper surnames, so Sirius remains "Black" rather than "Noir."Le Prisonnier d'Azkaban continues the moderate sentence length and moderate vocabulary of the first two books in the Harry Potter series. The vocabulary words tend to occur mostly in the action scenes, which motivates the reader to infer meanings from context. But scenes that include one challenging vocabulary word usually involve several. You'll still want your dictionary nearby, but if your French is improving you won;t need it on every other page.This story is simplified in a few places, especially in some of the scenes toward the end where Harry and Hermione as time travelers are seeing themselves during previous parts of the day. Overall the plot line flows smoothly and quickly without confusion. So this is a great story for exercising your French reading skills.

Very interesting book! You just want to keep reading! :) Can’t wait to read the next four books! Hopefully they will be all as good.

My daughter is currently taking French 2 (English is her primary language). She understands most of the words in this french version of Harry Potter. What she doesn't know, she can figure out from the context and because she knows the story. She really enjoyed reading this book! :)
