A Great Effort by Bruce Willis & Cybill Shepherd
I loved Moonlighting when it ran in the late 1980's on TV. It was an innovative, rule breaking, super talented effort of a lot of creative people who worked their collective butts off to leave us with an original one of a kind production. Bruce Willis in his star making debut, Cybill Shepherd struggling along with a group of brilliant writers to produce one for the ages. The music was great . . . used to produce episodes of enhanced originality. Used to accent scripts and scenes of pure joy for we the audience. Oddly, my favorite episode using Billy Joel's Big Man On Mulberry Street is missing from this soundtrack. I assume since it was a dance number/dream sequence thingy it was not included. Still you have the two great numbers by Cybill Shepherd, Blue Moon and I Told Ya I Love Ya Now Get Out, and Burce Willis doing Good Lovin in the Atomic Shakespeare episode. And of course there is the series theme song Moonlighting sung by Al Jarreau which became a big hit. All in all a great soundtrack and worth every cent.

Good sampling of music from the series
Good intro to what became a sampling of '80's (and older!) music from a great show.

Fun Soundtrack
It's unusual for a Television Show to have a Soundtrack, but Moonlighting incorporated music in a unique way and particularly one very imaginative episode which put the staged the characters in a setting around the 1920's solving a crime together. The music is fun and the two tracks by Al Jareau and one by Linda Ronstadt are icing on the cake.

Great Music All Around
Loved the pilot movie, loved the TV show, and love the CD. The performances by Bob James, David Sanborn, and Al Jarreau are top notch. Bruce Willis and Cybil Shepherd are great on their respective tracks, and the mix of such greats as Billie Holliday, Percy Sledge, and Linda Ronstadt's cover of the Gershwin classic "Someone to Watch Over Me" round out this collection in a great way. This is one CD I grab and put in the player over and over again.

love it!
Bruce Willis singing is so much fun - his natural conveyance of his love of life is probably the best part of this CD - and Cybil Shephard, her voice is soooo very lovely - love how she does Blue Moon! - I own the LP, too - this CD is one of my very favorites! So, glad to have this again in my everyday world!

Television series soundtrack
Because I was a huge fan of Moonlighting (especially the music), I hoped this soundtrack would be a compilation of all my favorites. It's not. I really didn't want to hear Bruce Willis and Cybill Shepherd sing. It not that they don't have good voices, they do, but I really wanted to hear more Al Jarreau, George Benson, and Lou Rauls. Those were the voices I want to remember -- pure and mellow and romantic.

Some walk by Night...
... some reminisce by day. Some great tracks and memories of a (mostly) great TV series, when Bruce Willis had hair & Cybill didn't cast such a big shadow. Title track "Moonlighting" and "Since I Fell For You" by Al Jarreau are great and have you rocketing back to the Eighties.Bruce & Cybill sing too! Of course Willis had his Motown careeer and a lot of enthusiasm for music, if not the greatest voice - "Good Lovin'" from the Shakespeare episode is lively and catchy as Hell though. Cybill's "Blue Moon" and "Told You I Love Ya" are from the Black & White flashback episode, good big band numbers. Fling in soul classics from the Isley Brothers and Percy Sledge, and of course David Addison's office party piece of "Limbo Rock", and is this a good album or what? .. "Do bears bare, do bees be?"
