LOVED This Book!
This romance was so unlike most of the ones I read, and involved our heroine who may or may not be a witch, and our hero, who was convinced she was a fraud and was out to prove it.I have read tons of romances--most of them Regency--and I was afraid I was getting a little romance burn out. Every book I have read for at least the last year or two has been "meh" for me. Even from well-known authors whom I have read and enjoyed for years. Same plots, same circumstances, same dilemmas, same tepid characters. Yawn...So I thought, well, I haven't read Connie Brockway in a while, so I picked this up and REALLY loved it. It was a delight! An oasis in the desert of my romance megrims (that's kind of a twisted metaphor, but you know what I mean). To me it really says something about a book that--once finished--you want to start it all over again. This was that kind of book. One of my top ten romance books is her "The Bridal Season" and although not all her books have been home runs, this one was out of the park. I really loved Grey and Fannie and the secondary romance, while not as compelling, was actually vital to the book's plot. Her writing is always fresh and her characters believable and lovable. Her sex scenes are romantic without being too erotic and repetitive.I highly recommend this book. A DIK as they say on All About Romance, and one I will definitely read again.

Enchantingly refreshing romance
This is my first Connie Brockway romance and definitely NOT my last. The storyline was refreshing - I enjoyed the fact that the h/h each had time to mature from their first encounter. They were then, in my opinion, much more evenly matched when they next met. I also enjoyed their verbal sparring - amusing and strangely charming. It was definitely a turn-on for the H! This is a 'keeper' for me!I'll be looking for more books from this author now.

Thoroughly enjoyable
I have been stuck in a book slump so this was a pleasant surprise. The plot was refreshingly different that didn't take itself too seriously. There were times that I laughed out loud especially at the little maid Violet. I will definitely read this book again.

Loved the story plot & romantic tension ! Witty dialogue! Young lonely heroine with a magical way with animals is duped into a loveless marriage with a con artist medium Hero special prosecutor comes to expose & arrest him & is mesmerized by her innocent beauty They meet again she a widow with a new identity companion to a young heiress A double side by side romance emerges between the older jaded couple & the decade younger charges of the leads One is a sweet innocent perfect love the other , my favorite, contentious hot steamy without trust Almost perfect just wished more spectical, hero to witness heroine's animal magical ability

Always Wonderful
I was delighted to pick this book up because it was different from Connie Brockway usual writingsI have always loved her books and I will say that all her books are enchantingly different, every one a delight to read. This one was just a little different with a magical twist.I am impressed with her variety and every time I pick up one to read she makes it special and meaningful to me in some way .I always enjoy her characters because they are never perfect and so much like the people that could live down the street .Thank you for always making me think that in everyone of us is a special story.

Doesn't Seem Like 100% Brockway
Brockway is one of the authors I like to read and she really won me over with "As You Desire," years ago. Generally, her books are worth the time/$$. Unfortunately in So Enchanting I found the characters hard to care about, and the pace slow. I had to stop in the middle because I realized I didn't care what happened. This is not the usual level that Brockway achieves, so I really don't know if it is her or me. I'll probably just go back and read As You Desire again, with a flawed hero that is adorable, rather than one who seems a little mean and not too bright. I'm giving this one two stars only because Brockway is usually pretty good and worth reading. I'm not giving up on her yet.

A nice change-of-pace
This book is a refreshing change from your typical historical romances. This is not your typical they go to lots of balls fall in love and live happily ever after romance novel. The spoke almost reminded me of Julia Quinn meets Christine Feehan. Great dialogue as always with Connie's novels but instead of your typical historical Regency she adds an interesting Touch of Magic literally :-) add to that the mystery and adventure and this is a great change of pace and fun read.

Enchanting!
Love this delightful, doubly romantic story with an element of magic. Especially love the hero, Grey (aka) Lord Sheffield, and the heroine, Franny. Simultaneously, a secondary romance between Franny's young ward, Amelia, and Grey's nephew, Hayden, unfolds. The book is crafted showing the difference of young and innocent love versus the cynical, untrusting, and sensual love between two mature individuals. Although each story is enjoyable, the older couple (by just a few years) romance is delightful with humor and great bantering. The story is enchanting (I'm sorry for the cliche); but, it truly is:)

A Touch of Magic
Magic, mystery and mediums - it's Lord Greyson Sheffield's job to investigate and unmask them all. The great Alphonse Brown is no different. But when Alphonse flees - and soon after dies - his young widow is left penniless, ruined and alone. Francesca Brown may have been married to a charlatan, but her own cursed gift is real, and she'll do anything to hide it. So when an old family friend begs for her help with his own unusual daughter, Fanny changes her name, moves to Scotland and vanishes from society. But six years on, Fanny's charge is in danger, and the man Amelie's guardian sends to investigate is none other than Lord Grayson himself. And though Fanny has done everything to put her past behind her, lies and deceptions are all Gray can see - as well as an attraction that neither can deny.A Victorian romance with a paranormal twist, both Grey and Fanny are reserved, acerbic and sceptical, made that way by the twists and disappointments life has dealt them. Yet both are hiding soft-hearts and passionate natures beneath their mistrust. Fanny's gift with animals is as interesting as it is useless, and it's nice how the magic is more of a hindrance than a convenient escape from any troubles.Balancing the adult and very rational interactions of Grey and Fanny, is the innocent but ardent adoration between Amelie and Hayden - in a Georgette Heyer feel to the naïve, and occasionally annoying dramatics. They also provide a nice source of discussion, tension and argument for Fanny and Grey, which keeps things interesting.I'll admit that amongst all the historical details and beautifully crafted period feel the confusingly inaccurate titles were a disappointment, but the story itself was enough to push that aside. If you don't mind a hint of magic with your historicals (and it is only a hint), then forgive the mistakes, settle down and enjoy this tale of gifts, obsessions and the rewards of trusting enough to believe in love.

Great read
Enjoyed this novel...liked both male and female leads. Would like to have seen the h ‘gift’ play a role in solving the conflict in the end, but it did not. Feel there was more potential for this storyline.
