Sony 135mm f/1.8 G Master E-Mount Full-Frame Telephoto Prime Lens – Ideal for Portraits, Events, and Studio Photography

I’ve owned leica’s and Canon L lenses this blows them away. It’s scarily sharp. Quality is second to non. It’s expensive but it’s worth the money.

This lens is absolutely fantastic.I’ve always preferred primes to zoom lenses so this for me was ideal.I did initially receive a very used lens. All the packaging was missing. There was dust on and inside the lens. Amazon quickly rectified this for me.The only issue I have is Sony don’t honour Summer or Winter cashback for their products purchased from Amazon. I believe this is down to some of the items being Grey Imports

Well made product with great quality and sharpest output I ever see. But it is a heavy one, so it’s not an ideal day to day option.

My first time using a 135mm prime. Love it! Such a nice bit of kit. Arrived quickly and in prefect condition.

No lens is perfect, but this lens is close.I think 135mm lenses are easy to design to get fantastic results. You can see a lot of different vendors produce 135mm at f2 which are superb, but for Sony to do this at an aperture of 1.8 is just phenomenal.This lens could be reference quality lens based on how much it can resolve with clarity. This is close to clinical perfection, and that’s the reason it is near flawless and not flawless.This is not a character lens, producing sharp, clear photographs with great colors at the cost of bokeh with situations with a lot of background elements. The bokeh in these cases can look a little busy.If you want a lens that melts away backgrounds no mater what the situation, then get the Sony/Zeiss SAL 135mm 1.8 ZA lens. Of course you have to adapt it to e-Mount using the LA-EA5 adapter. The focusing can be slightly slow and noisy. The lens is also large and heavy, but the results are astonishing. This is because the lens is not flawless like the GM.I think the Sony 135mm 1.8 GM is a great lens and with produce pictures with great resolution, clarity and sharpness. You will also get great bokeh in most situations. It focuses fast and quietly.All this put together makes the 135mm GM a great successor to the A-Mount Sony 135 mm 1.8 ZA lens.Highly recommended!

Il Sony 135mm f/1.8 GM è semplicemente straordinario. La qualità d’immagine è incredibile: nitidezza impeccabile già a tutta apertura, bokeh cremoso e tridimensionale, e una resa dei colori tipica delle ottiche G Master. È perfetto per ritratti, eventi e fotografia artistica, ma anche per chi cerca un teleobiettivo luminoso dalle prestazioni professionali.L’autofocus è velocissimo, silenzioso e precisissimo, anche in condizioni di scarsa luce. La costruzione è robusta e premium, con un’ergonomia eccellente e pulsanti personalizzabili che rendono il lavoro molto più fluido.Nonostante non sia leggerissimo, il bilanciamento su corpi come l’A7 IV o l’A9 II è ottimo. Top of the line lens! So unwordly buttery bokeh! It's a specialist lens though and needs practice when using it. Details are very sharp and I very much love the rendering!

Okay, unter kräftigen Bauchschmerzen bezüglich des Preises habe ich mir aufgrund der Top-Rezensionen im Internet dieses Objektiv gekauft. Meine Rechnung: am liebsten fotografiere ich Portraits (Cosplay usw.), außerdem überlegte ich schon immer vielleicht ein Tele für Zoo usw. zuzulegen. Im Prinzip ist es ja ein leichtes Tele, also ein guter Kompromiss.Zu den Äußerlichkeiten:Wie alle G Master Objektive ist es gegen Staub und Spritzwasser geschützt und am Bayonett mit einem Gummiring abgedichtet. Das Objektiv ist groß und schwer, jedoch im Gegensatz zur Konkurrenz gleicher Brennweite immer noch einen Ticken kleiner und leichter (trotzdem sind die 950 Gramm ganz schön wuchtig). Für die gute Abbildungsleistung nebst Bokeh, sorgen die 13 Linsen in 10 Gruppen. Für den flotten und leisen Autofokus sorgen gleich mehrere Linearmotoren - hier habe ich bei einigen Rezensionen gelesen das der Fokus trotzdem lahm sein soll - dies kann ich nicht bestätigen. Der Autofokus ist Top. Zumal man den Fokusbereich begrenzen kann mit einem Schalter am Objektiv: den kompletten Bereich / von 0,7-2m / 1,5m bis unendlich. Zwei Stellringe hat man am Objektiv: einen für den manuellen Fokus und einen für die Blende. Letzterer macht für mich wenig Sinn da die meisten Leute die Blende ja an der Kamera umstellen. Hier hat man wohl eher an die Filmer gedacht. Einmal hatte ich die Blende am Objektiv aus Versehen verstellt und dachte schon es wäre defekt. Die Naheinstellgrenze ist mit 0,7m richtig gut. Ist sogar kürzer als bei dem normalen 85mm 1.8 von Sony. Einen Bildstabilisator sucht man vergebens. Das hätte dieses Objektiv vermutlich dann auch viel größer und schwerer gemacht. Außerdem hat man ja noch den IBIS in der Kamera.Bildqualität und Erfahrungen:Ja, dieses Objektiv ist wirklich extrem scharf (selbst bei Offenblende). Auch der Kontrast und vor Allem das Bokeh sind spitzenmäßig. Mein Immerdrauf das 24-105mm das für ein Zoom-Objektiv schon verdammt gut ist, sieht dagegen echt alt aus was die Bildqualität betrifft. Die Größe muss auch nicht mal ein Nachteil sein: ich nutze es an der Sony A7iii. Mit Batteriegriff ergibt das eine echt gute Combo. Es fühlt sich alles schön "griffig" an, vor Allem wenn man so große Hände hat wie ich.Im Übrigen sollten man sich im Klaren sein das 135mm sehr lang sind. Aber dann muss man sich halt ein bisschen mehr bewegen. In Innenräumen oder auf Conventions ist das manchmal schon zu lang. Draußen und im Zoo hat es sich schon bewährt.Also nur positives zu berichten? Nicht ganz, Qualität hat seinen Preis. Den lässt sich Sony fürstlich entlohnen: satte 2000,- Euro werden hier ausgerufen! Der Straßenpreis ist natürlich mittlerweile niedriger. Zugegeben, ich hatte echt schon überlegt das gute Stück wieder zu veräußern und mir von dem Geld lieber drei "kleine" Festbrennweiten zu holen. Oder ich sag es mal anders: das 85mm 1.8 von Sony hat eine sehr gute Abbildungsleistung. Das 135mm GM hat natürlich eine bessere Haptik und sagen wir mal eine 15-20% bessere Bildqualität. Ist es deswegen wirklich den 4-fachen Preis wert!? Das muss jeder für sich selber entscheiden. Für mich als Hobbyfotograf eigentlich unnötiger Luxus, aber ich werde dieses kleine Monster behalten und hoffentlich noch viele Jahre tolle Fotos damit machen...

Es un lente increíble.Después de considerar por mucho tiempo un 70-200 y un 85mm decidí comprar este prime por su tamaño relativamente compacto y nitidez y velocidad de enfoque exageradas.Inclusive haciendo crops al 100% de magnification es estupenda la nitidez y textura que este lente es capaz de producir.Además puede enfocar bastante cerca y sirve casi como un lente “semi macro”, lo cual es una inesperada pero excelente adición.Recomendado ampliamente, todas las fotos que subí fueron tomadas con este lente y una Sony A7C.
