Perfect for the Princess Fan
I got this for my youngest girl for christmas. It is awesome when put together and very tall. MY daughter can play for a while on this and she has sooooo much fun doing it. One warning it comes with lots of pieces to assemble. The main castle has several pieces to attach. Then you put together most of the stuff inside. Even the kitchen table and chairs required assembly. You also have to buy Batteries for this it makes lots of noises too. But it was well worth the time to put together. If your child loves princesses then this will not disappoint!!! Also know this arrived in its box with no outer cover. So when you get it its very clear what is in the box.-----After having it for a year hear are a few things we have discovered. The stairs. Don't stay on well you have to either glue them together or continuously put them back together. Also keep an eye on the columns holding the stairs up they have fallen a few times on us. Its still a lot of fun for the kids and really stairs are the worst. The plastic stair case just won't stay put together and after a few tear sessions and aggravated nights I busted out the glue and they have stayed together since.

Not loving this!
My 5 year old got this from Santa at Christmas. It does come with lots of parts, furniture, etc. but it is really big! We are having difficulty finding a place to store it when she isn't playing with it, which is often as she doesn't seem to really like it. I'm not sure if this just wasn't what she had in mind when she asked for a doll castle or if she is just overwhelmed by it. You would need a very large playroom or area to accommodate this house. In addition, it is very flimsy. We have to store it on a throw rug and slide it across the floor to play with. When we move it, parts fall off and everything falls out as all the accessories are really lightweight and flimsy as well. Several parts have already broken and are glued. Barbies do not fit in this house well and it is way too big for figurines. My daughter would have been much happier with a house that is smaller, store-able, collapsible and even somewhat mobile. I continue to live and learn, this is a prime example.

Wonderful for a princess-loving toddler
I purchased this for my 3 1/2 year old daughter for Christmas. She loves the Disney princesses, and saw this in a toy catalog and instantly wanted it. There is some assembly required, but nothing too difficult. One complaint would be some of the furniture (chairs, one of the tables) is not very sturdy, but we have super-glued it together and it no longer falls apart while she is playing. There are also some small pieces that toddlers tend to lose, but I just but those in a baggie and stored them until she is older. My daughter absolutely loves this castle. She plays with it all the time. We purchased her a set of the Barbie/Disney princesses to go with it, and we usually have to pull her away from it to get her to go to bed. She hasn't seen all the movies, so she doesn't understand that each room comes from a scene in the various movies, but that doesn't matter to her. She just loves having a play house for all her princesses that is truly "worthy" of a princess. It's definitely something I see her playing with for many years to come, especially as she sees all the movies and is able to put together more complex scenes for her princesses in their castle.

My daughter's new favorite toy
We purchased this for Christmas, the only thing my 4 year old daughter actually asked for. I was hesitant at first to spend so much on any one gift. But she truly loves it. And it has so many fun little "extras" (the doorbell, the toilet "sings" when flushed, etc) that it's worth it. It was a bit tedious to put together.....so many little pieces and the instructions are only pictures. I would recommend super gluing some of the furniture at the time of assembly. We've had to do that with a couple of the chairs, the footstool and the towel rack; they won't stay together otherwise. I agree with other comments that some of the pieces are cheaply made. But once we super glued them, we've had no other trouble. Other than that though, it's been a great gift and we've been very pleased with it.

I have mixed feelings
I have mixed feelings because my 4-year-old daughter loves this thing a lot, but it is very cheap quality for the price. I paid around $130 (now I see it's listed at $90) compared to the $170 price I saw in the stores. I like the detail and the # of items that came with this, but a lot of it is just junk. Some things don't stay together (stairs, the purple table, the towel rack)and some of the stickers are coming off. I don't understand why the fridge fits into a specific nook and stays there, but the closet doesn't. And why is the bed just a bit too long for the bedroom? It makes no sense. The Cinderella shoe doesn't fit properly into that thing on the steps either. It's not really the right size for the (barbie sized) dolls either. Like I said, my daughter loves it and plays with it a lot, so there are positives in that respect. It's just a lot of money for what it is.

Daughter loves it!
Daughter and even her little brother play with this daily. They love it!People complaining about all the small parts must not have read the description or looked at the ad photos. Yeah people, it is a doll house with doll things like doll furniture and stuff.People complaining about assembly too... Yeah that's what parents are supposed to do, assemble their children's toys.If it were fully assembled it would cost more to ship and it would cost Mattel more to produce it. Both these cost would be passed on to consumers (parents). I don't know about you but i appreciate the savings, even if it means "some assembly required."I also don't understand people saying this is low quality. I actually think is exceed the quality of most toys I buy for my kids. (I buy a lot of toys!)Very detailed and beautiful disney castle with vibrant colors and lots of goodies.
