Worth it
I read the first book and almost quit, but I hate being a quitter with books. I continued reading and it got better, it got to the point I wanted to keep reading and then it was over. I've read several of Arthur's books and have never been disappointed. I started reading this one and couldn't put it down! The catch and release with the two main characters has been interesting and makes me want to read the next book! The evil, I feel though is just beginning, and I look forward to seeing Sam persevere and finally understand what she is. And of course, I want to see Gabriel brought to his knees and admit his feelings for Sam!

What an ending!!!!!!!!!!
OK this was so much intense and craziness that the ending is just not what was expected! So onto the next and find out what the heck happened!

I recommend this series to anyone who is a fan of the UF/PNR genre.
If you haven't read any Keri Arthur, and you're a fan of UF/PNR, then you need to get on the ball, my friend! I absolute favorite is Lizzie Grace, but I also love Outcast, Spook Squad, Damask Circle, and Nikki and Michael. I haven't tried Riley Jenson yet, but I'll get there.

Love Sam Ryan, looking forward to Book 3!
I love this series and was distraught to hear that she may not be up for finishing it any time soon. Its a great set of books. I am absolutely invested in finding out what our heroines origin story is and the connection between her and a mysterious guy who appears in her dreams. The book advanced fairly quickly, has a great heroine although I am not as thrilled with Arthur's love interests for said heroines. On the note I would love to read a little more romance, or at least some physical romance. The heroine has courage to spare, not so much her crush. Regardless, Sam Ryan carries the series, her story is gripping and I admire her and care deeply what happens to her. Secretly, I hope she ditches her crush and finds someone willing :)

very entertaining.
This was fun and entertaining. I kind of like the angst with the main couple and I am really liking the supporting cast for this book. its fun and suspenseful. Parts of the story are very easy to follow and obvious but then she throws something unexspected in the mix and keeps me on my toes.

Too much relationship stuff/heroine becomes a doormat.
I have to be honest, I don't like this as much as I did the first one. This novel focuses much more on Gabriel, who has suddenly manifested two dead partners and a desire to reject Sam (because we all know that he's secretly in love with her...<insert predictable tripe here>). Their relationship overpowers the action to the point that I found myself telling my kindle "for the love of god, just f*** already so that I can get on with the storyline". Am I even allowed to say that? In any case, I'm not big into urban romance and this was heading way too far into that territory for my taste. In this novel, much more so than in the last one, Sam gets a lot of abuse and just takes it. She goes from kickass to doormat. By the end of the novel, she is being bullied, tortured, and belittled so routinely by most of her allies (the bad guys just stick to repeatedly clocking her and Gabriel over the head with a brick) that I was more annoyed on her behalf than involved in the story. What happened to the fiesty heroine from book one? It's not that the novel is horrible. I just didn't really like it. Since the blurb for book three promises more abuse from Stephen and 'deep connections' with Gabriel, I won't be buying it.
