The Retinal Circus

This live DVD is just an audio and visual assault on the senses. It shows Devins fun but serious approach to music and his intention to put on a show. As a Prog rock fan more than a metal fan I wasn't sure if I'd like it but his music transcends many genres and whilst heavy in the main , it retains melody. Personally I feel the addition of Anneke's voice to the music is sensational! To hear those angelic tones over a soaring metal riff is wonderful. A great watch and impressed me so much that I bought the Royal Albert Hall Blue ray and intend to add much more DTP to my collection.

Devin is an absolute master. He's the ultimate showman, funny, engaging, and he has some genuinely brilliant songs.This isn't how the show went out on the night, but Devin made the right choice by remixing it, editing it, and making it closer to his original vision for the show.As for the concert itself, it is crystal clear, the sound is incredible, and the visuals are out of this world. If you're a fan of Devin's, this is a must buy. Even if you aren't, it's worth picking up, I've shown people unfamiliar with his work the 'Grace' section from this show, and instantly converted them - it's that beautiful and awe inspiring. There are a few videos from this on Youtube (Grace, Kingdom and War) - look them up, if you needed any more convincing.This is how Live DVDs really should be.Superb.

Absolutely superb package. Limited to only couple of thousand, so grab yourself one!The Blu-Ray is excellent (and pretty much makes the DVDs included redundant) and the double live CDs haven't been off my stereo! A must for all Hevy Devy fans and newcomers alike. DO IT! DO IT! DO IT!(Anywhere else I looked for this package, it was well over £100, so it's a bargain too!)

devin townsend mad as a box of frogs..music, theatre all rolled into one crazy dvd,sound and picture quality are superb hard to describe devins music, metal,operatic,gospel,80s cheese its all here and anneke van geirsbergen is totally awesome as well these two work so well together,an amazing entertaining and unique rock dvd.

Best live dvd ever

This is a great show in terms of audio and visual stimulation. Devin Townsend presenting excerpts of his 20 year career as a performer, a great band with him and a well put together stage show including Ziltoid the Omniscient and a special appearance by Jed Simon. Ripping!!

This is the ultimate Devin Townsend experience. Here you have a "musical" built on various work from all of Devin's solo career, and even songs from Strapping Young Lad. If you love Devin (like I do) you'll love this.

Great show and I'm so annoyed that I missed seeing it live.The whole performance is brilliant, but then again it IS devvy we're talking about here, it was so interesting visually and the music... Well, I don't need to tell you guys... Buy it now. You won't regret it.
